Re: Jim Dowd: a man with his finger on the pulse.
Just become a Labour candidate and it's guaranteed, irrespective of your performance as our local MP. Why on EARTH didn't we vote for PR? I wonder if the poll was taken now if people would vote for it? Anyone who votes for Jim Dowd at next year's election is simply crazy on the basis that he is a ...

Re: Mayow Road vet
In my experience Mayow Road Vets has been consistently caring over the years, and able to get appointments at short notice, recently our Jack Russell was suddenly quite unwell in Mayow Park and the practice were very effective in diagnosing and treating within a few minutes of being called. The ...

Re: Mayow Road vet
The only other time I've heard anything negative about Mayow Vets on this forum was around the time the new vet practice opened in Pets at Home, by a poster who was never heard from again. Make of that what you will. Is that a dig at me Rachael? Shame on you if it is, Fyi I am very busy so not able ...

I find that those that are anti Tesco actually shop in Tesco but are in denial about their principles.Eagle wrote:Catfordlad
I also entered the store on Sunday. Bright and well stocked.
I think you will unleash a tirade of anti Tesco posts very soon.....

My visit to the new Tesco Express
I visited the new Tesco Express around 1600 today and was very impressed. The store is huge inside, cool and very well organised. I was so pleased to be able to get £3.00 off when I spent more than £10.00 by using a voucher I had been given by a friend who works at a charity shop on Sydenham Road. I ...

Re: Mayow Road vet
whites is great because the staff are committed, helpful, knowledgeable & lovely. also isaac's a star. also it's rather popular with pet-minded sydenham folk - who may just know their stuff. rescued animals are not for the everyone - the long term consequences of neglect or ill-treatment may be ...

My Guess is an estate agents, but it would make a great little deli. Or picture framers. Or gallery. Anything visual. It has big windows, hopefully a business would make good use of them that is an asset to the high street. A deli when there are so many other shops on the high street that sell meat ...

Re: Mayow Road vet
Catfordlad The reason why I can't believe your comment is because of my own experience with Whites, which I explained. I think you may have another agenda; that they now sell some animals. You say "all the local animal charities are bursting with pets that need loving homes." but Whites only sell ...

Re: Mayow Road vet
Can't believe catfordlad's comment about Whites. I've always found them very helpful and friendly. Can't speak about Mayo's cat care but I will always have Tony Rodger's caring for my greyhounds. He was a track vet at Catford and Wimbledon and really understands the breed. His treatment advice when ...

Is now open.
Staff are busy on the high street handing out leaflets.
It also looks like Costcutter is about to re-open.
