Re: High Bank (house?), Panmure Road

Hi Andrew, I presume you've already seen this post from the Town Forum last October? It's under the 'Panmure Road' topic and the special collections link does indeed show your George Andrews there in 1896. Re: Panmure Road Unread post by RJM » 18 Oct 2020 20:11 Have a look at https://www. ...

Re: water pressure

This, just posted on Thames Water's Twitter feed:

#SE23 #SE26 #SE27 area has also been impacted due to pumps tripping at Brixton Pumping Stations which has caused an air lock at Crystal Palace reservoir. Our team is working to get the area back to normal as soon as possible.

Re: Tennis courts in Mayow Park

The problem with the previous courts was that they weren't maintained and the surfaces & nets pretty shocking. Add to that having to wait for a turn, youths playing football, and even dogs let loose on courts leaving back end deposits, surely revamped, maintained and bookable courts have to be a ...

Re: Recommendation for Progas

Another thumbs up for Progas. We woke up this morning to no hot water; hopped on the SE26 website and found that they were recommended here (and a family based, 20 year-old Sydenham company which is always good too). Del was friendly and helpful. I'd already tried the obvious - switched the boiler ...

Re: A Family Classified section in SF?

The Families magazine and website are a good start for local info (http://www.familiesse.co.uk) - paper magazine available from the library & Kirkdale Bookshop (free). For example, here's their listing of Halloween events for our little darlings: http://bit.ly/vNYetT. They've got local firework ...

Better that the children do something fun, and safe. On Thursday, there'll be a soft play truck at Sainsbury's at Bell Green from 1.30-6pm and it's free. Also there are Halloween kids' activity listings on the Families website here: http://bit.ly/vNYetT

Yes - give Alec a ring. He runs Speedy Repairs (cookers, washing machines etc; honest service, realistic prices - he's your man). I'm a satisfied customer, not an advertiser on the make. 020 8692 7959.

Re: WHAT IF no 14: FRESH & FRUITY UPDATED

I'd go for 1a. Personally I like (& use) Fresh & Fruity - the shop - already. They're friendly, and the produce genuinely is fresh and fruity. I like filling my little bags and popping them on the scales and it always costs less than I would expect! Why 1a * Most customers don't take a standing back ...

Re: Another estate agent

Maybe they can finally sell/ let the flats + retail space at the top of Kirkdale (remember Miles the butchers, anyone?) that have been empty/ to let for years. Seems like a bit of a wasted opportunity myself - with all that space, it could have been a properly big chicken shop, or hair/nail salon ...

Re: Lewisham Life is getting scarcer

I've also voted for Lewisham Life to be less frequent as production costs come out of our council tax and mostly we play 'count the pictures of the mayor' while scanning it for useful information. I do however agree with Tim that there are lots of Lewisham residents who don't have the option/ luxury ...

Kirkdale Business Centre at Cobbs Corner has space as well, I believe. No contacts I'm afraid, you might need to look for the door and ask!
