Re: Looking for a shop unit in Sydenham
I think there's definitely demand as the closest gift shop is bunka in forest hill or kirkdale book shop. Also might be worth contacting the SEE3 group - I don't think this still goes on now but Annabelle Mclaren is also in the Sydenham society as well as a director on the regeneration project http ...
Re: Bob Wines
Just read this in the Sydenham society newsletter by cllr best "...I am concerned with the number of off licence applications - the latest is 4 station approach from bobs wines for the retail sale of alcohol for consumption off the premises 10am-10pm Monday to Saturday and 11am - 9pm on Sundays ...

Re: AMAZING SANDWICHES…
I also really want to like this place but every time we've walked in ended up leaving. The decor isn't as inviting as other places (kinda has a rabbit hutch feel with the funny chip boarding) and tables a bit like an old cafe. I hope this place develops overtime as there is certainly a demand for ...

Re: Rebuild the Greyhound Pub Campaign #rebuildthegreyhound
Interesting article in the evening standard tonight where pubs could be banned from turning into betting shops, takeaways or supermarkets. Seems like Wandsworth council are proposing new rules that pubs are assessed for historic value, being in a conservation area & adding value to the community ...

Re: Brown and Green (AKA Mayow Park Cafe): Fab!!
Went today & thought it was excellent. Food was brilliant. Service friendly. The decor was really nice; you could see an awful lot of thought has gone into this place. It was spacious & yet busy with atmosphere.
For me, they really have gone the extra mile & deserve to do well.

Re: Can anyone recommend a good painter?
We've used downe decorators to paint our sash windows. It's Gary & viv & they've worked together for 20+ years. Gary lives in girton road & has lived in Sydenham for years so does lots of the houses in the area. We used them as came as a recommendation from a neighbour. Gary can give you a long list ...

Evening standard: Love spending closer
Great sponsored feature in the evening standard yesterday about the benefit of supporting local independent retailers & how this benefits neighbourhoods & communities. For every £1 spent locally it says approximately 50-70p benefits your local community whereas if you shop online or at out of town ...

Re: WHAT IF 22: CLASSIC TROPHIES in KIRKDALE
I really like the designs. My favourite is the one with the large "&" in the signage. I really like the colour & looks very regal & traditional with the lettering. Kind of gives the image of quality & reliability / been around for a while and can be trusted. I went into this shop about 4 years ago ...

Could someone please post minutes to the meeting this evening? Unfortunately was unable to attend but would be great to know the plan/ ideas for the next year & how long the Portas pilot will be running for?

Re: STATION APPROACH POSTS
I think they look a bit naff. A real shame considering the high street had got conservation status, i think something really exciting could have been done in the space tying the old and the new. I also don't remember seeing this on any of the plans & over the many public consultations attended ...

Re: Sydenham under a new flight path?
Thanks Rachel for confirming my suspicions. It sounds like if we don't complain this could be permanent. Does anyone have a number to contact to voice concerns? Also does anyone know if Sydenham society or chris best is also campaigning for this to be reduced? [ Post made via Mobile Device ] http ...

Sydenham under a new flight path?
Noticed the number of planes going over Sydenham & the constant drone of airplanes is less than one a minute at the moment. It seems to have got particularly bad the last week or so. My husband and I were in crystal palace park for 5 hours on Sunday evening and you could see just how many we're ...

Good event last night! Music, food & atmosphere were great.
Thought the DJ at the end had some great tunes. Would be a good choice for the club night in Zanzibar..

Re: SEE3 News: Supper Clubs Announced for Pop Goes Sydenham
Sounds brilliant! I will also be booking up. I have always thought the Blue Mountain/Sugarhill/Kente should be open in the evenings particularly as they have the set up already and could easily capitalise on a demand for more places to go in the evenings. Domali's in CP is a good example of how it ...

Re: What No Trees? Syd Road
I totally agree with you Nigel. Trees are so important for the high street and I would also have liked to have seen even more than in the plans. Too much concete with no greenery just looks awful. Having said that, I do think Riney are doing a fab job on the pavement, it looks heaps better than it ...
