URGENT anyone got a trolley I can borrow?

Hi there, got some heavy things to shift today - just wondered if anyone has a porter's trolley / luggage trolley / similar I could borrow for a very short time this afternoon (Wed 13th). Thanks in advance!

Re: Sushi of Sydenham

I'd give it a while before trying it. Their waiting staff are - putting it charitably - having teething trouble. I went in at 8.25 to ask for a takeaway tonight, was kept standing around for 10+ minutes, then told in a faraway voice that "no, sorry, we stopped doing takeaway orders at 8.30". When I ...

Re: Miriam Lodge Planning Application

Does anyone know what progress there is with this, and whether it is still worth contacting the planning officer? I notice on the site linked in the original post there is no cut-off point for submissions mentioned - and the decision is not expected to be made until the end of this month. I also ...

Re: Property World bans "For Sale, boards in Sydenham Highst

This is wonderful, a small victory in some senses but an example of how enlightened businesses can take the lead in local improvement. Let's hope this can be used to inspire (or shame) others!

Re: The foul mess at The Woodman

Oh I will. In the meantime, the youth with the welding torch made such a hash of those steps - leaving jagged shards of metal jutting out and holes in the brass cladding that they had to bring two more welders in to repair his 'work'. Unflortunately these two, who looked and smelled like tramps, and ...

Re: Fiasco: Sydenham: Kirkdale: Forest Hill

I'm with Lee here, completely. I imagine there probably are issues of vested interests and pulling of strings related to the regeneration projects (there always are in local politics!) but the OP's monomaniacal, barely coherent axe-grinding in this thread simply makes me think that those making the ...

Re: The foul mess at The Woodman

If it was about money, they'd hire efficient and half decent workers rather than chucking £££££ at a bunch who take forever and make a bloody mess. This raised a grim smile yesterday: they had a welder working on the brass coatings for the doorsteps there yesterday. Each time I walked past, he was id ...

Re: The foul mess at The Woodman

Well as if by magic, the bulk of the waste in the back yard was cleared the very afternoon after I posted that. I'm sure it was coincidence, but gratifying nonetheless. Still doesn't detract from the shabbiness of the whole enterprise. How can W&S expect locals to take their "Kirkdale Village ...

Re: NEW OPENINGS, NEW CLOSINGS

Shame they haven't read any of the town entre guidance on shop fronts, this breaks all the planning rules. It's food for gods sake, make it looks inviting instead of bloody awful. Awful is in the eye of the beholder - it looks inviting enough to me. A little garish, but blimey I'd rather have some ...

The foul mess at The Woodman

I gather Wooster & Stock read this forum. I hope they do anyway, because they need to have their attention drawn to rubbish (pun intended) behaviour of their builders. How long does it take to renovate an office? Aside from the scaffolding and signs being left up on a historic building far longer ...
