Re: Attempted burglaries off Lawrie Park Gardens
There has also been a burglary off Lawrie Park Gardens - it was a female who entered through the back door. I believe there was another in the Lawrie Park triangle near to Border Rd (a total of three in this area). Lewisham Police are aware of these incidents.

Sydenham accommodation at Christmas
Does anyone know of any rentable accommodation in or near Sydenham that is likely to be available during Christmas? Preferably a one or two bedroom apartment, available to rent for 3-4 days? The closer to Crystal Palace park the better.

Re: Help! Plumber recommendation for leaky boiler?
We've used NB Plumbing, ran by a local plumber called Nick. He's been very professional, friendly and well priced. He was recommended by the local plumbing supplies shop on Kirkdale. I can PM his number if you'd like.

Re: Will you use the new Greyhound Pub?
Yes - we would definitely use the pub. We've been waiting with anticipation for a while and I think it can make a huge impact. If it has a decent range of food and drinks that aren't overpriced, it will be a great pub to visit as a local, for Sunday roast, a drink on Fri or Sat night or a quick pint ...

Re: Antic pubs have withdrawn from the Greyhound
Many listed buildings are often demolished with only the front wall left standing. As AliB says, the process of cleaning and replacing all of the original materials will probably be v costly, so I'm sure if they could have avoided this (if the building was structurally sound), they would have done ...

Re: Sydenham Farmer's Market...??
A Farmer's Market would be great in Sydenham. There are some lessons to be learnt from markets within the Brockley New Cross area:
There is a small, overpriced French farmer's market on Telegraph Hill in New Cross which lacks any atmosphere. Needless to say this isn't great, despite being run in a ...

Re: Antic pubs have withdrawn from the Greyhound
I don't think a Weatherspoon would do any favours for the area - no atmosphere, bland food, cheap booze early in the morning. I'm surprised it get's so much support.
Very sad to hear Antics have pulled out. I think a Sam Smiths would be the perfect answer!
