School pick up from Eliot Bank needed from September
My after school care for my children has just fallen through. I am therefore looking for after school care for my daughter aged 7 and my son aged 4. My daughter already attends Eliot Bank School and my son is starting reception in September. I am looking for someone to collect them from Eliot Bank ...

Re: High Street Wishlist
Great idea for a post. I wish for 1. Kirkdale books to be bigger do that I can browse with pushchair. 2. A dolphin type pub to move into The Greyhound 3. A wine shop selling nice wine - on the row of shops near Kente would be nice. 4. A bunka style gift shop with a reasonable range of gifts for ...

Have they arrested anyone for this yet? I know this sort of thing can happen anywhere but it's very unnerving to think he is still at large in our local area.

FC Harris in Beckenham were brilliant on our garage conversion. They're a member of the federation of master builders. You should be able to find them on google.

Gosh it's a nightmare isn't it? The one o'clock club in crystal palace park is my lifeline in the school holidays along with trips to the various playgrounds around Sydenham. If only the sun would shine!!

Re: SYDENHAM ROAD AND SIGNS
Toilets are an essential and the ones you found look fine to me. A Sydenham sign would be great - make it feel like a real place with a heart. The only Sydenham sign I know of is at the top of Weswood Hillbin Lewusham blue and I think it's vile. [ Post made via Mobile Device ] http://sydenham.org.uk ...

Re: childrens party - St Batholomews church hall
It's big enough for the pre-school and for tea after church so I would think 40 kids would be fine if they are entertained. The hall is a bit sparse so you'll need some bunting/ balloons etc to make it look cheery. The toilets are nearby and the kitchen is good. Have fun! [ Post made via Mobile ...

Re: swimming lessons for toddlers in the area?
They do kids swimming classes at the centre near Sainsbury's (The Bridge) but I've never managed to go. I did try once but the pool had overheated ( a common occcurance apparently) so we went home again. I have since taken my kids to lessons in Crystal Palace and now that the changing room has been ...

Re: Please pay for gardening
Thanks for the tips on beating the hosepipe ban. I do feel aggrieved that gardeners are blamed for the drought, when most other gardeners I know have water butts etc and barely use hoses for watering. I am passionate about my garden but maintaining it is hard work and time consuming and I always ...

Wow! Thanks for this - invaluable information. I'll add to this if I come across anything you've not mentioned. Brilliant for new mums to see how much there is going on for babies in this area.

Re: New shop at Cobbs Corner
I really hope the Sainsbury's local will complement the existing shops. I know that I will shop there but I will still be going to centre news for my newspaper and Payless for milk and veg etc. Sainsbury's will be great for the things the local shops don't stock like decent wine and double cream ...

Re: Child friendly pub?
I've regularly taken my kids to the bridge house in Penge, which has always been fine. It has usually been after a session at the 1 o'clock club or the playground in CP park so they are happy to sit pretty still. The pub doesn't have any kids toys but sitting under the veranda is pretty relaxing so ...

Having been a loyal Ghurka's customer for the past 5 years I decided to try Barakah after reading this thread. I thought it was really good, reasonably priced, tasty, good selection of food. They even threw in some free spiced veggies, chocolates and those hot wet wipe things. So now I'm torn as to ...

I went in to Sugar Mountain on Dartmouth Road today. La Bonne bakery will be supplying them with the croissants that they will be selling on Saturdays and Sundays. So that's good news for them.
