well of course it must end int "ite" or "ian"

let's take the former and add a couple of letters before it. I know. Let's take the first two letters of the two Saxon words that make up Sydenham.

That's S and H

You will learn the software that operates this site is somewhat slow and frequently characters seem to get lost....

That, though, requires you have the ability to learn. This depends on intellect.

Meanwhile I suggest you read my earlier post once more.

Sydenham's traffic problems are nothing to do with businesses setting up in the area. They are entirely due to:

1. Through traffic which ought not to be using a minor road.

2. Deliberate steps taken by the local authority to hinder traffic flow.

3. Bad design which attracts through traffic.

4 ...

Well said.

Actually I suspect locating a Homebase in Bell Green will reduce traffic flow. Certainly it should reduce the pressure on the bottleneck bridge in Southend Lane.

My vision is of a large public square beneath which runs the railway. Access to the station from a passenger friendly station building with escalators and lifts to the platforms below.

Buses would terminate or stop at the square either beneath the square (for ...

Money is collected in the South. It is spent in the North (of London).

Take, for example, the Underground. Barely represented in South London while there is a comprehensive network North of the river. The bulk of its costs are funded by subsidy.

I'm really looking forward to being able to do some shopping within reasonable travelling distance.

Here's to the successful implementation of a decent shopping facility at Bell Green.

Where there is a will there is a way.

Piecemeal cheap and nasty cosmetic (sic) patchwork only creates resentment. Do the job properly or not at all.

I was not suggesting removing the bridge although rebuilding to a more useful design is desirable.

What I was trying to suggest is that there is a need to have two bridges each handling one-way ...
