Re: Sydenham vs Forest Hill

It may not be far to walk but I find the roads off the high street very dark and not very busy after normal commuting time. I always get a cab from the station after an evening out but that is not very often now I have a young child too.

Re: Adamsdrill or Haseltine

Just to say Kelvin Grove has a wide catchment area at the moment so don't write it off if you are a bit further away from it. I have a child in Reception there and it was our furthest away school but we got in as did a few even further away (Adamsrill would be our nearest school). It's a great ...

Re: School advice - 2016 intake

Just to say that Haseltine went from 3 form to 2 form entry this year and so the catchment has shrunk. I'm on Knighton Park Road and was outside the catchment for this year. As you say it does vary each year...

Re: Birthday venue for kids

We had the hall at Holy Trinity on Lennard Road, was a good space for 30 4 year olds and has a kitchen you can use . Was also reasonably priced compared to some other halls we've used.

Re: Demolition of Sydenham Rd between Kent Hse and Knighton

I've just read the leaflet too and am wondering how they are going to fit 2 x 3 bed houses in that space. Parking won't affect me as I'm at the other end too but can see it will have an impact on those who are nearer. Agree that the new builds won't add anything to the character but then neither ...

Re: Venue for Kids Party

I quite recently used the Holy Trinity church hall on Lennard Road, we had about 30 kids plus parents and entertainer and it was just the right size.

Re: FRIENDLY GREEDY BLACK & WHITE CAT

This could be the same one that visits us at the end of Knighton Park Road. It has a splash of white at the tip of it's tail? Very cute and friendly but I've resisted feeding it so far even though it presses it's head against the window asking to come in!

Re: House prices Feb 2014

A 3 bed semi in Knighton Park Road recently sold for £660K, it was marketed at £475K but had overwhelming interest at an open day. Crazy prices!

Re: activities for mum and 8mth old?

Hi there I've recently moved to Sydenham from Forest Hill so most things I do/have done/am about to do with my 9 month old are based around there, thought I'd mention them though! * Baby Sensory, Honor Oak Road - Wednesday afternoon (other classes available) www.babysensory.com * Boppin Bunnies ...
