We will of course ensure the concrete sleepers are strategically placed. Incidentally, you may be interested to know the clean up is now complete and we removed 67 tonnes of waste.

Unfortunately, the clean up is taking longer than we originally hoped - there is a lot of it. However, as soon as this has been completed, the concrete sleepers will be fixed into place. Obviously we're very pleased the travellers have now moved on. We are currently in the process of cleaning up the car park which will take longer than we had hoped because there are many tonnes of debris. We will also need to repair the damage done to the tarmac and the height and width barriers ...

We now have confirmation that the Possession Claim against the travellers will be heard in Court on the morning of Monday 11 November.

If successful in getting a Possession Order, we will look to transfer the matter up to the High Court for enforcement by way of a Writ of possession against the ...

I would like to reassure you that the Council is continuing with its action to evict the travellers. We lodged proceedings with the Court on Wednesday morning (30 October).

More travellers arrived over the weekend and, although many left again, there are still some travellers on the site. As a result, the Council is continuing with its action to evict and will shortly be lodging proceedings with the Court for their eviction.

During our visit to the site today, the travellers told us they intended to leave over the weekend. We have been clear with them that they are trespassing and, if they don’t leave the site, then we will start court proceedings for their eviction.

Seven caravans are currently sited illegally at Girton Road car park.

On 23 October Lewisham Council issued the occupants with an order to give notice that they are trespassing and need to leave the site immediately. If they don’t we will need to proceed with legal action to evict them.

You might like to know that the Planning Committee has been asked to defer consideration of the Naborhood Centre planning application until their next meeting on 20 September. This is because the Sydenham Assembly meeting is due to take place on the same evening as the Planning Committee.
