Re: RIP DYLON FACTORY
I've never seen this building before but, it makes me think of an episode of The Professionals for some reason (The Dylon Factory not, the Job Centre). I think it looks cool. The building it's going to be replaced with seems rather forgettable and anonymous to me.

Re: Forest Hill station this morning
Cheers for the photos.
I thought about taking a snap but, my train pulled in and I switched into commuter mode.
It doesn't look as though the ram raiders were successful. I'm guessing this must've been done in the wee hours so, hope nobody was injured.

Forest Hill station this morning
Hi,
did anyone see the carnage at Forest hill station this morning?
It appeared as though somebody had attempted a cash withdrawal from the station ATM with something a bit larger than a debit card!
(I bet I've posted this in the wrong section....if so...ooops).

Re: Sushi of Sydenham
Hi there,
It's always best to group similar businesses together, shopping malls do it, supermarkets group products together, they do it for a reason!.
I'd agree with that to a point although, my experience in my past life as a Buyer tells me that there's also much to to be said for blazing a new ...

Re: Moving to Sydenham
Hi there,
My 10p's worth is that Upper Sydenham is really nice as an option if you don't mind the hill (I see it as a cheaper option than a gym). Views are great and it seems a bit quieter than the main bit of Sydenham, if that suits your requirements.
Baxter Field is a little gem of a park as is ...

Re: New web site for Sydenham Town Centre
Hi,
sorry about that.
SERP's are Search Engine Results Pages. Can be Google, Bing, Alexa or whichever search tool you use. Not everyone uses Google so, I didnt' want to make that assumption. Whilst sat here and typing 'Sydenham' into Google, STF understandably ranks highest. Both sites can benefit ...

Re: TRAINS THIS WEEKEND - WOOHOO!
Hi,
I'm a bit confused (albeit too easily) about what's happening this weekend on the trains.
There is no info as yet on TfL's site and my confusion stems from beginning to hope that we could have...
...a normal service?
No, surely I must have got that wrong.

Hi, did anyone hear or see the quadbike being chased by the police around kirkdale/ kelvin grove/ wells park a couple of evenings ago?
It was before 6pm I think.
I could hear the chappy zooming about and the police were seemingly intent on not letting him get away as, they brought out the big guns ...

Re: New web site for Sydenham Town Centre
Hi there,
I've had a quick gander at the STC site. I like the look of it and find it is easy to navigate.
I think bounce rates could initially be quite high if users are searching for STF via SERP's (Google, Bing etc for those not familiar with SEO and Analytics).

Hi,
There is also this snippet from TfL :
Sunday 18 March, reduced service between New Cross Gate and West Croydon.
London Overground will be running two trains per hour and not the usual four trains per hour on this section of route.

Re: Sydenham Station Vandalism
The shoving, pushing and general free-for-all was expected given the circumstances but, definitely left me feeling that it's better to dust off my bike and go at my own pace as often as possible.
Plus, it's free.

Re: Antic pubs have withdrawn from the Greyhound
If I'm walking past the Woodman and look either up Kirkdale or down towards the roundabout, Syd reminds me of Balham a few years back (anyone remember Balham: Gateway to the South?).
Not quite on par with Clapham (Old Town, Common, South etc) for various reasons but, with enough going for it to ...

Re: Antic pubs have withdrawn from the Greyhound
Cheers for that; I'm probably more gutted about the Woodman than the Greyhound purely in terms of distance to walk. The Greyhound is in such a hugely prominent location, it must be done right as it's almost a 'Welcome to Sydenham' landmark.

Re: Begging in Sydenham Road
Hi,
I've given some shrapnel from my pockets to a chap recently (I was hungry and very focussed on food) but, have no problem telling them no, if I don't want to give.
Being firm and polite works best for me as, I don't know their circumstances and it 'could' be genuine need.
I saw the same chap ...

Re: Antic pubs have withdrawn from the Greyhound
I happened to be walking past the old post office this morning and only just noticed the sign saying 'Sylvan Post opening 28th Feb (or was it the 26th?)'.
Good start as far as having a pub in the area goes. I hope it provides an incentive for The Greyhound and The Woodman to crack on.

Hi, I'm sorry to hear about your cat.
Is there any chance of posting a picture just in case?
Your post has reminded me about getting my cat chipped. I can't remember if I did it at the same time I had her 'done'.
Fingers crossed for a safe return.

Re: Attempted Burglary alert
Hi,
once I've engaged with someone by answering the door or my phone, I can still say, 'I don't want to talk to you' if I don’t want what is being offered. That in itself requires the introduction and pitch to be made from them.
A sales-person or cold caller can only pitch/ beg/ sign you up etc ...

Re: Attempted Burglary alert
Hi, your interpretation of my comment as evidence of me being reluctant to open my door is valid as a possibility but, wrong in my case. (I may have misread and if so, apologise for writing pre-coffee)
You seem to first infer there is fear on my part and that’s not it.
What about if I've looked ...
