In the Halifax Street side have they started to paint the tiles Wooster and Stock orange? Why do they need such a big space, i dont think i have ever seen their premises packed out with eager home hunters. Its a shame it will not be a place that a lot of the community will be able to use, same with ...

Maybe it will be turned into a Chick n Chippy Chip ina Box Cafe, to catch the passing trade from the school, a Cafe in Mayo Park might do better if it was next to the small childrens play area where there are also picnic tables?

When did the Pavilion Cafe close down? Why did it close? Maybe there is not much need for a Cafe there, not much passing trade, maybe it would be better as a youth centre as its near to schools?

If you were going to create a walk in Sydenham what could you include? Interesting buildings,history, famous people etc.

Me neither. What if Sydenham held an Alternative Olympics next year, maybe as part of the Sydenham Festival? It could be in a park maybe Mayow as they have Bowls, Cricket, Tennis,Table Tennis but other events could be egg & Spoon , sack race, welly throwing etc.

Hello, do you think it would be a good idea to have a thread for events that are going on in the Sydenham area? People do post events but sometimes they get pushed down past page one, it would be nice if they were all in one place?

Maybe the volunteers could be paid with the "Kirkdale Pound" that they could use in Kirkdale Village, or a Timebank type setup.

Its not too bad a journey getting to Cineworld o2 North Greenwich, jump on the train to Canada Water then Jubilee line, and if you go a lot its worth thinking about the unlimited card for £13.50, and dont forget Orange Wednesdays.

Its a bit embarrassing really, asking where to make friends , i think there is a bit of a stigma about admitting that one does not have many friends!

How & where is a good place to make new friends in Sydenham?
