Re: Local Train Services
I'm surprised no-one has mentioned the Overground service last week, services closing down at 9 PM every evening. I guess we're just not supposed to be out at night ....... but didn't Mayor Khan promise to support London's night-time economy?

Re: Did you vote?
I don't think it's that the Labour Party's climate policies need to get stronger it's rather that the Green manifesto was a left-wing manifesto unlike Labour's. Greens can definitely win if they have deep understanding of and involvement in local issues. If there had been a hustings I would have ...

Covid being ignored
Why is Covid not an election issue?
The Govt/NHS no longer records data on number of infections (except for hospitalised patients) and no longer offers PCR tests, so doesn't even have info on latest strains.

Re: Local Train Services
Your question implies we're not already well served.. I'd argue that trains every 10-15 minutes into Victoria, London Bridge/Charing Cross .......... Getting more people to ditch their cars and rely on the public transport riches around them? Now THAT's a topic I wish our elected officials would do ...

Re: Local Train Services
If the Government and Mayor are of the same political stripe will that help? I gess there is a fair chance we may may find out. Indeed. If every councillor, MP, local Mayor, London Assembly Member, City Mayor, and from next month the National Govt is one party, then the 'other party' really can't ...

PS hope everyone is enjoying the special short four-carriage trains that Southern runs at weekends. Especially convenient when the Overground is not running.

Re: New Marks and Spencer at Bell Green
Dear Just John, The South Circular route was never going to be a local authority decision. It was decided at ministry level, or London level, but Lewisham Council would never have been allowed much of a say. The fundamental problem with the South Circular is that it is much too close to central ...

Re: Did you vote?
I voted green x3. Not expecting anything from it. But really struggling to vote Labour, based on interactions with the council over a long period (though I have had recent productive conversations with Louise Krupski, who is now deputy mayor, about the litter issues). I really think it's time some ...
