Not sure when this was taken but many moons ago. Looks like a horse and cart on right side of road. I lived at this top end on right side of road my Great Aunt lived at the first house you can see on left.

I now have an old picture of Holmshaw taken from top end looking down not sure if I can post it anywhere on here perhaps someone could tell me.

Looking at the map here was very interesting to see that Holmshaw Road stopped at Kirtley the top half not yet made into a road. Wonder when they lengthened the road?

Remember Grieves bakery corner Kirtley Rd. On other corner there was about 3 shops was it owned by co-op. It was a butchers, food store and I think hardware, further to that was the hospital.
