High Street improvement/ lamppost replacement
So the high street is beginning to look nice with all the shiny new paving slabs. Nicely cut and snuggly fit around existing street furniture - like the lamposts. But why oh why wasn't the work coordinated with the lamppost replacement work? Now it looks like the slabs have been ripped out and the ...

Re: Italian Restaurant
They may just be testing the waters.
To be honest, I have only been into this restaurant once - which was pleasant enough. But I do know a lot of the people on this forum rate it highly - so it would be a shame if it did go.

It says its only been first listed recently on the 20th April.
Well I'm glad you are saying that they arent leaving the high street anyway.

Does anyone know if the Italian Restaurant Rafaele is closing down/moving or something?

But now you have discovered your voice! True - but only fleetingly - I'll soon disappear back to the comfort of readership only :) Some interesting replies (pm'ed and forum) from you all - thanks. I found your last paragraph interesting HD - so is this like the same user posting under various ...

Re: Sydenham Town Political Bloggers?
May be 'under attack' is too strong a word - but you're right Tim that my fear is that I and others may be subtly influenced and in a way I object to being so. My friend was leading on from something that I think he heard from some conservative blogger Ian Dale - that the Tories gained a lot more in ...

Sydenham Town Political Bloggers?
I, like, probably the majority of users (joined or not) of this forum - do more of the reading than the contributing to the topics discussed. However, I enjoy reading the posts of the regular contributors getting to know their views and personal agendas and getting usefull tips about the local area ...

Re: CRIME MAPS
Finally managed to get onto the police.uk site (have been trying all day). I'm actually quite impressed with how detailed these maps are compared to the met police map site that the OP posted. But after my initial nosiness of checking out what was going on around the streets where I lived, then my ...

My journey today on the ELL then Jubilee was also reasonably enjoyable. It hasnt made my journey any quicker - but atleast the ELL was cool (Jubilee not!) and I managed to get a seat all the way. My only minor gripe being the interchange between the ELL and Jubilee - whilst no way as bad as at LB ...

Yeah I think the p and the b got mixed up ... Herb Alpert not Herp Albert ... no relation to Prince Alfred though  Went in there couple of times last year - wasnt too bad really - furniture a bit tatty ... but in a homely well worn comfortable way. There was no real bad vibe that I thought ...

Hope your son is ok. I've noticed that there seems to be a few more dodgier characters hanging out in the streets now that is a bit lighter/warmer in the evenings. Probably not the same guy - but a couple of weeks ago, I did see a couple of hoodied up youths on bikes riding up Mayow near Burghill Rd ...
