Re: Forest Hill Pools
I was a member of Forest Hill pools before lockdown and when new management took over,so was expecting some sort of update from the new owners but never had one. First thing I knew was via a flier through my door. I also struggled with the website. Not impressed by expensive membership prices and ...

Re: Dangerous e-scooters in Sydenham
So agree they are a pest on the road and pavement. There is even one guy on Sydenham High street who uses the scooter on fhe pavement with a young boy on the front. Seen him a few tines. Dangerous and ridiculous !

Re: New shop opening?
No idea but would be good/nice to know! A small restaurant I think would work perfectly on the high street - wishful thinking but a small Thai, Tapas, Mexican or other would be amazing. The corner St Christopher’s and the large double unit opposite Pure Gym both have change of license applications ( ...

Re: AMAZING SANDWICHES…
I find this hard to believe - I had to wait 20 minutes for my sandwich to be made for what was advertised to be a toasted pastrami sandwich with cheese and gherkins. When it finally arrived it felt rather light but I took it home and upon unwrapping it found there was one miserable piece of meat ,no ...

Re: Pavilion closed
Hi Had a very nice drink in the Dolphin on Friday - haven't been for a while but ambiance was nice and decor festive. The prices are the problem for us- same as e.g Merchants Tavern ( Angela Hartnett ) in Shoreditch for food and drink! £6 for a bottle of belgian beer ? This cannot be right. We need ...

Tawny Owl
Hi has anyone else heard an owl calling in Sydenham this week and last? The location is rear of Silverdale and Windfield Close/ Queensthorpe Road area around midnight . We have heard it over several nights and my husband even thought he saw one in the trees a week ago before we heard it. I am an ...

Re: The Railway Pub
Hi I am also bothered by fact the name of The Railway has changed to The Pavilion (why? ) - cricket?again why? It's on a railway bridge for goodness sake. Apart from it being bad luck to change the name of a pub I am surprised this had not been raised on the forum before. Unless of course it was ...

Re: Cattery or Cat Sitter
I can highly recommend Catcalls Uk - they have a website too. We have used them for over 10 years and they are highly skilled and reliable and recommended by Mayow Vets. They will also water plants and put lights on and off if you ask them. Our cats are too nervous to go in a cattery so it was a ...

Just for the record Catwoman and Catlady are different posters. I mention this only as Eagle addressed Catwoman as Catlady in recent posts but Indo not share her views on crime and punishment.
Thanks.

Re: THE OLD CURTAIN SHOP IS GOING TO BE…
Yes I suppose with the formation of a pocket park on Queensthorpe and therefore road the closure it will be a 'dead-end' anyway ! But seriously Robin there is already an undertakers a few doors up- why do we need another one?? And as for availing myself of trendy restaurants etc- I know plenty of my ...

Re: THE OLD CURTAIN SHOP IS GOING TO BE…
This shop is going to be on the corner of my road....I agree it is one of the last shops I would have wanted to see there, apart from another bookies or cash or cheque shop! We heard a rumour that it was going to be a Tesco Express...? Are we sure about the Funeral Parlour? Anyway just want to ...
