Re: Broken window theory
Syd that’s kind of inspiring and well done . I sometimes think we suffer from a kind of Imposter Syndrome in that we feel we don’t deserve those nice things like planters and arty bollards. Let’s face it we don’t deserve knife crime but we get that . Good luck with your planters .
Re: RIP
Just had a quick look at the various fora on this website - I’m actually quite staggered at how little comment there has been on anything about anything .

Re: Planning application for 18-storey tower block (and more) in central Penge
Absolutely repulsive - it’s not even just more people warehousing , it will be a money spinner for people to speculate sublet and otherwise suck the life out of Penge .
No new infrastructure, the parking will be abominable even if all of Penge becomes a CPZ .
It hopefully proves beyond doubt that ...

Re: Lightopia in Crystal Palace Park gone bust
The park is fast becoming the dreary “ entertainment venue “ that it threatened to become when Bromley council and now the CP Park “ Trust” lost its way completely.
Lightopia was in my view quite ugly , looked especially awful in daylight and now is an eyesore that won’t even compost itself . The ...

you are without doubt, hilarious, only question remaining , intentionally or unintentionally ?
I think your argument , if you can call it that ("Mr Johnson is a truly awful person") is definitely no better than the Orange Man Bad stuff we've had to listen to for years .

Re: Anybody clap last night?
I think people are sick of the fetishising of the NHS and that’s the main reason why the clapping stopped .
Without doubt there are some exceptional people working in the NHS but like all organisations there are soke poor performing and decidedly unheroic people too.

I think Cathy was stating simple fact and I have observed the same thing almost every time I go to Sainsbury in Penge. To call it racist (and by implication the person speaking those words) shows either a kind of hatred for others and their right to voice opinions, or a quite low intelligence.

I think John H was saying he would NOT eat halal so doubt he would welcome your gleeful suggestion of an halal KFC.
Mosy I’ve never heard any suggestion in my life that halal slaughter is less cruel than ordinary slaughter - ditto kosher though it’s so rare in this context as to be not worth ...

I don’t the Nando’s livery , which seems to be everywhere , is anything anyone will miss . One mans vibrant is another mans poxy ,garish chicken shop etc.

Not moanin’ just a straightforward observation . I think East Dulwich draws a lot of its custom from locals who walk in .
Remembering how bad things got for some peole when Zanzibar was open , it’s not an unreasonable line of enquiry.

I suspect there will be thread around mid August along the lines of “ why can’t Lewiaham stop Nando’s customers parking on the pavement/ roundabout / up my road/ zig zags etc .

Have to concur, I walked past and there seemed to be a lot of suits but very little work - surely this should be treated as top level urgent given the mayhem it’s causing .

I have no problem with the CP festival precisely because it finishes , as advertised at 9.30.

Is there something wrong with being concerned that what you thought was a genuine Big Issue seller is actually part of some gang activity from Romania ? And if you think the system is being abused is it wrong to stop donating to it ?

Good luck and thanks for the greyhound tile mural - at times I think those 5 millimetres of ceramic tile is all that kept the building standing !
