I have just visited the FLICKR web site , and have just found a photo of the " egypt " statue from the Crystal Palace , apparently it is situated in Farringdon . Is this really the Crystal Palace one , and are there any more around , i know of " Thames " and " Pacific "......over to you ...

it dawns on me that there are quite a few pictures of the South Water Tower Base but very few of the North after the towers' destruction , i take it that one is probably in one hell of a state after the way the tower was removed but I have only ever seen about two pictures of it all the ...

it has just dawned on me looking through the latest posts that no one has any pictures of the main entrances , were there turn stiles , a booth for obtaining tickets ? what did they have there ? How was the North tower accessed ?

the bust of Joseph Paxton is still in Crystal Palace Park , and thank you for the info on " Father Thames "

So it looks like the best part of the Aquarium was built over , such a shame some of the remaining parts of the Palace were just cleared away , as there is so little of the metal structure of the building left . But that is a great pic none the less....

The film starring Stanley Holloway at The Crystal Palace is called " Strike Up The Band " apparently.....i cant find it on DVD , have any of you guys seen it ?

Thank You , I shall certainly be placing my order for that as soon as it comes out ! I must admit i had always had a sneaking suspicion that the " i only told you to blow the bloody doors off " sequence was filmed at Crystal Palace because of the transmitter in the background

So I have to ask . Is " The Pleasure Garden " the only feature to have been filmed at the Palace ? I believe that there was a Stanley Holloway film done there too , but again that is only what I have been told , and I don't know that its a fact .
