Re: Recommendation for Window Glazier

try SDG windows - they're located opposite Sydenham Library. They did a great job with our double glazing last year. Not sure if they can do what you're asking but worth giving Vick a call (020 8616 1516) or drop him an email (info@sdglazing.co.uk)

Re: mobile mechanic

My neighbour has used D&S Key motors (www.dskeymotors.co.uk) who carry out her car servicing and MOT outside her house every year. So she's been using them 5+ years.

Re: Sydenham Green Group Practice

Rang on Tues and got through about 8.15am but all the appointments for that day had gone. I've been logging in online for the last couple of days, but there were no appointments available online either. I have just logged in now, and there were lots of appointments available for Monday 18th ...

Re: GPs in Sydenham

Useful tip for those that miss the early morning queue for Syd Green Practice - try ringing at 1.30-2pm to see if they have an afternoon appointment for that day. Sometimes they receive cancellations during the morning so release those appointments around that time. If it is an emergency, you should ...

Re: My visit to the new Tesco Express

I went in yesterday to spend my £3 off voucher, but struggled to find stuff that I wanted in there - I also went in with a pram and found the aisles a little bit too narrow. It didn't help with the staff leaving their crates mid-aisle to unload items onto the shelves - I had to reverse back up ...

Re: Antenatal classes

Hi Kirsty! We attended the antenatal classes at Lewisham Hospital too a couple of years ago. Not sure if it has changed much but found it quite useful with tours of the birth centre, maternity ward and labour wards, tips on breastfeeding, finding out about different methods of pain relief, equipment ...

Re: activities for mum and 8mth old?

There's a baby & toddler group, run by a few mums, that meets up every other Thursday at the Venner Road Hall (behind Pedders estate agents on Syd Road). From 10.15 til around 11.30. £1.50 includes refreshments. Lots of nursery rhymes and story time. Next one will be on Thursday 29th September. I no ...

text on hovering

would it be possible to display first few words of the first post in a thread just by hovering over the Topic title? So that I can easily identify which threads are of interest to me. Instead of having to go in to a thread to find it is of no interest and having to click the back button or other ...

1. Other than the pub where do you currently purchase your beer from? Sainsburys - usually get the beers from here purely for convenience as it's nearer to me and they have offers on occassionally 2. What type of beer do people prefer to drink? Any of the popular brands really - and probably ...

When you shop or eat out, do you stay local or travel elsewhere? Mainly do my food shop locally in Lidl, Somerfield and Sainsburys (although I hate going into Sainsburys because I always end up queuing at the till for ages. Saturday mornings are a nightmare in there I find. Too many people and ...

I have complained to Royal Mail customer services....wonder if I will get any response from them. I thought that when you pay extra for Recorded Delivery (and Special Delivery), that it means that a recipient signs for it, so that you can trace who signed for it. Surely the postie can't sign it ...

think i saw the same pair a couple of weeks ago too on my way back from the station, as I passed Burghill rd . Unsigned recorded deliveries

I've received two small parcels through the letter box this week which were both Recorded Deliveries - so both would have required signatures. However, none have been provided as I've been out both times and the postie didn't leave a "While you were out" card Is there some kind of new process for ...

I think it looks great! A huge improvement on the current signage. If I didn't already know what the shop front was for, I would definitely stop, have a nosey and try it out. With the current setup, I probably wouldn't go in, were it not for the good reviews that I have about it on here. Let's hope ...
