Re: Reduced Southern service

Have you tried train to Norwood Junction and pick up the Thameslink? I think it's fast from there, but don't know when it runs. They're normally half hourly and its quick - from Sydenham. The trains early morning ran at 37 mins past & 7 mins past. The first stop from Norwood Junction is London ...

Re: Covid Vaccine - Third Booster Jab

I spoke to Sydenham Green earlier this week about a flu jab. I was told that at the moment they're only had the vaccine for and are vaccinating, the over 65s - they're dealing with everyone else in November - although they don't seem to have an idea roughly when in November that will be!

Re: Covid Vaccination- Sydenham Green Group Practice

I had my 2nd jab a few weeks ago and it was fine. Although the queue was long (partly due to social distancing), it moves very, very quickly (I queued for around 7 mins or so). There are a very small number of chairs available for anyone who needs to sit while they wait - you can mention to the ...

The surgery now has the vaccine for the under 65s. (Earlier in the week they also had the vaccines for the over 65s and children).

Re: PFC Penge Food Centre Sydenham Road

I hate to be negative about a local independent store, but I have also been shortchanged at PFC in Sydenham. They have also charged me different amounts at the till to the price marked on the shelves - the first time I put it down to an honest mistake on their part as regards labelling, but it has ...

Re: Best Breakfast in Sydenham

Can no-one in SE26 cook themselves bacon eggs and sausages in the mornings then? BRANSTON baked beans (caps intended, if you have always habitually used Heinz like I used to, I challenge you to try Branston, I tried them once and have never looked back). Going to agree with you on the beans ...

I use APT Security in Beckenham (https://www.aptsecurity.co.uk/) to service my alarm which was fitted by (the now defunct) Harris & Sandford a few years ago.

Re: Laptop disposal

Currys in Bell Green operate a recycling scheme. Just drop off any electrical item and they will dispose of it free of charge.

https://www.currys.co.uk/gbuk/recycle-1 ... ?s=recycle (see the free recycling in store). I dropped off my microwave there last year.

For future reference for anyone needing GP appt sooner: https://www.lewishamccg.nhs.uk/your-health/Pages/GP-Extended-Access.aspx Phone your GP (wells park should have offered you this service Parker) if no appointments, then ask for the above. Re: Supreme Fish Bar

Well, I agree with all of the positive comments. I popped in this weekend and was so happy to eat freshly fried 100% genuine cod which tasted lovely and was a good size. The unpleasant unidentifiable substitute I ate and failed to finish a few weeks ago, is now a fading memory. Thank you Supreme for ...

Its so encouraging to see these comments - I may make a visit at the weekend. If I do, I'll post my comments here as well. Thanks to all who have.

Re: Supreme Fish Bar

Agreed and thank you. I really hope your supplier gets it together. I've always thought it was the best chippie in the area and this was the first time in about 15 years I've ever had such a bad experience. Personally, I'd like to resume getting my fish and chips there without worrying about the ...

Re: Supreme Fish Bar

The Harbour, just beyond Syd. Station towards Kirkdale is good for fish although I find the chips a bit variable. They also do kebabs etc. I agree about the chips from Harbour - they're crispy and quite oily at the same time (or at least were well over a year ago when I last tried them). At least ...

Re: Supreme Fish Bar

If they are passing off a cheap fish as cod, perhaps it needs to be reported? There’s the possibility of a public health risk there, i think. I’m so sad to read this - we’ve been getting our fish there for more than ten years. It was alway fresh, tasty and HUGE. I'm not sure what's going on - but I ...

Supreme Fish Bar

Does anyone know if the Supreme Fish Bar has changed hands? There's an array of unfamiliar faces behind the counter, they're selling the smallest pieces of cod I've ever seen and I've just eaten something which I'm convinced isn't actually cod!

GFA Thanks - I'm sure a lot people would be interested to know how he's getting on . I'm sure the neighbours in Alma Place would have preferred Alan's garage to whatever the " developers " shoehorn into that space . A very good evening Nigel I just thought I'd post an update. I have made contact ...
