Re: newlands park

hi there - I moved to Newlands Park about a year and a half ago and we own a 2 bedroom garden flat with cellar and was in good nick when we picked it up . . . . We got the property for 190 - so it is excellent news to hear the price of what you paid for similar property in same area.
This clearly ...

Is it the weather (its appalling here in Wales) making people a bit bitchy today? I've just received an appallingly abusive email from a Westminster councillor I was trying to be nice to.

So, can you cheer me up please by being nice (or faking it convincingly).

Mumble, mumble

Nah, we've already got the Capitol in FH and the quasi-Wetherspoon's Windmill along Kirkdale. What we need is a Lloyd No.1 Bar! :D

Where I used to live, the Tesco was done in an Egyptian style (to signify culture?) It arrived in cardboard boxes and took a week to put together. I think it was designed by the children in the school next door.

Re: so what is it like, living in Sydenham?

Hi,

I'm Mark, currently living in Devon but looking to relocate to London. Everything I've seen about Sydenham looks pretty nice, but what is it really like e.g. location, transport links (I need to get to Liverpool Street each day), people, cafe's, culture, pubs, spaces etc..?

I'd appreciate ...

Re: The dark side of Sydenham?

I ask this question in a state of relative naiivity and ignorance about Sydenham - so please don't think that anything is implied by it! I'd just really like a sense of people's opinions.

I currently live in Forest Hill and have lived in various parts of Brockley. I'm thinking of moving out to ...

Eagle and gillyjp, totally in agreement. Just think how fantastic The Greyhound can be again, that is what Sydenham really needs, somewhere FANTASTIC to eat, like the pubs in the countryside serving good, wholesome food, fine ales, somewhere you will want to travel to, tables outside, a lovely ...

I agree with Sean - I look forward to Tesco's coming. The more the merrier. That part of Kirkdale is now like no man's land! Shabby horrible shops (those that are open).
Do you hark back to a time when it was any different?

I don't come in here any more. The security act like they are in a major international airport. They make me uncomfortable even though they are so ridiculous.
