Re: Covid Vaccine - Third Booster Jab
We had our booster jabs at Sydenham Green yesterday. Just as efficient and stress-free as last time. The volunteer stewards do a great job. They even brought out a chair for me to sit on while we were waiting to be called inside.

Re: Petrol station
I filled up my almost empty tank with unleaded just now at the BP garage in Kirkdale, just above Cobb's Corner. No queues, plenty of pumps free.

Re: Covid Vaccine - Third Booster Jab
We were invited separately by Wells Park practice to have a flu jab, but in fact got one (without queuing) at Perfucare pharmacy. Have now been invited to book appointments for Covid booster jabs at Sydenham Green. Ours is on Thursday. But will we have enough petrol in the tank to get us there? (Yes ...

Re: Masks after 19th
Me too, for similar reasons. I detached and lost a pair of expensive hearing aids (insured fortunately) whilst struggling with a behind-the-ears mask. But I keep my behind-the-head version in my pocket which I vaguely assume, perhaps wrongly, is more hygienic than leaving it round my neck

Splendid. It's that sort of rugged individualism that has made this nation what it is.

I shall certainly do so on public transport and in shops if they are crowded.

Re: St Philip Neri school: Archdiocese appeals planning enforcement order
...it it is absolutely certain that the decision will have a terrible effect on the families who have trusted their children's education to the Archdiocese.
Don't understand this. What will the 'terrible effect' be?
Perhaps someone could remind those of us who haven't followed this in detail ...

Re: Boundary commission - Sydenham to combine with Dulwich
We're only just over the hill from Dulwich. ('Dulwich borders' is what we shall tell the estate agent.) So quite happy with this. (I think it' s the same proposal that the Boundary Commission made on the last round, which was never implemented.)

Good, thanks. I'm sure this is the letter I heard about. I'm a bit clearer now.

Re: St Philip Neri school: Archdiocese appeals planning enforcement order
I don't know the details of the parents' concerns, I'm only reporting what I've heard at third or fourth hand. I gather the head teacher has written to parents seeking to reassure them, but I haven't seen the letter. Perhaps someone on this forum has seen it?

Re: St Philip Neri school: Archdiocese appeals planning enforcement order
I hear that there is a lot of anxiety among parents about recent developments. They are worried about the potential disruption to their children's education. Where has the suggestion of a 'decant' to The Bridge come from? Would the parents find it acceptable?

Re: Forest Hill Pools
I've got mixed feelings about the new times - not being a morning person, 9.00 was always a bit early for me - but I agree it would have been nice at any rate to have had an explanation for the change.

Re: Forest Hill Pools
Called at pools this morning. Helpful young woman on desk sorted us out. Apparently there is a not very prominent thing on the app or the website that, if you click it, enables you to register for free (concessionary) membership; she did it for me on my phone, so unfortunately I wasn’t able to see ...

Re: Forest Hill Pools
My wife and I have had exactly the same problems. Attempts to get advice from Better, via online enquiry forms and telephone, have failed. Our current plan is to call in at the pools, possibly tomorrow, to see whether we can find a helpful real person.
