Re: Washing machine repair
I really recommend Steve, his website is www.londonspindoctor.com - he's fixed my dishwasher a few times over the years and I know he does washing machines too. He has lots of great reviews on the East Dulwich Forum, which is where I found his details years ago.

Re: Wall Art Homecroft Road
I love the Nathan Bowen street art on the old billboard on Bell Green roundabout, I would love to see more of this kind on spaces that are run down or unloved Where is this? The small roundabout leading to Sainsburys/McDs etc? Syd-gal, it's on the Bell Green roundabout, right by The Bell pub, it's ...

Tom, my son goes to a fantastic Taekwando club in Beckenham. It's a fantastic family feel to the club and they teach great skills and discipline. This is the link to the club http://www.virtuetaekwondo.co.uk. The instructors are incredible and both Guinness World record holders, it's a really ...

Ruby, I will be interested to hear what you find out as I also have some good quality toys that I would happily donate. Thanks.

I totally agree, but I think it's been amended as it didn't seem as bright tonight, last night was ridiculously bright.

Re: Amazing family friendly days out 1.5 hrs from se26
Marie, Broadstairs is a really lovely beach and about 1 hour 45 min from Sydenham, a lovely sandy beach and a very pretty town to stroll around. Another recent find was Eltham Palace, it's an English Heritage property with beautiful gardens, a real oasis in the City, not exactly cheap to enter but ...

Re: Amazing family friendly days out 1.5 hrs from se26
Lee, when Thomas is a couple of years older, Kelsey Park could easily become a day trip out :-) Fishing with nets in the stream by the main entrance, my son and his friends were happy with this for at least an hour or more and scrambling across the stones to cross the river. Building dens around the ...

Re: Adamsrill Primary School expansion plans
Mike/Eagle, I totally agree with your ideas but seemingly local residents opposed Home Park and Lewisham said it would 'reduce the amount of the site available for use by the rest of the community' which really surprises me as it's not used on a large scale by any locals from what I've seen over the ...

Re: Adamsrill Primary School expansion plans
I'm sure The Sava Centre car park is private land so not that easy to use perhaps, it would need to be council land, plus it needs to accommodate c.300 children so don't think it would suffice

Re: Adamsrill Primary School expansion plans
I do agree with that Rachel, when my son was 3 he went to a pre-school which was 1.5 miles away and we walked or went on the scooter every day, rain or shine. My problem with Willow Way is that there are better solutions much closer to the school that have been dismissed suppousedly due to residents ...

Re: Adamsrill Primary School expansion plans
I'm not sure I understand what you mean by what is the relevance of KS1 and KS2. There are a shortage of KS1 places in Lewisham due to a supposedly baby boom and I'm guessing a lot of people moving to the area as it's one of the few places in London where houses are still affordable (just!) - KS1 ...

The age group that are going to the Decant Site is age 3 to 6 so I guess no, I wouldn't trust them to take a bus on their own. Thank you for your interest in reading the thread, as I said, decision are being made at this time, so if anyone has any concerns, they are welcome to contact Margaret ...

Re: Adamsrill Primary School expansion plans
I don't think it's a case of them not being capable, it's more of a logistical problem for parents with one or more children in the upper classes staying at Adamsrill and a younger one being move to the top end of Sydenham, at the moment, there are no proposals for staggered starting times, which I ...

Re: Adamsrill Primary School expansion plans
The response we had to why Home Park was no longer being considered was it was not considered appropriate to encroach on this public facility, that the installation of a decant facility would reduce the amount of the site available for use by the rest of the community. I find this hard to believe as ...

Adamsrill Primary School expansion plans
Adamsrill Primary school is being expanded due to pressure on primary places across the borough. This building work is estimated to take 14 months. Key Stage 1 children need to be moved to a decant temporary site, the one currently being considered is at Willow Way, which is behind the Tesco Express ...
