Re: Re Masaniello Italian Restaurant
G Man, sorry but I think I find your post at best a little paranoid and at worst a touch bullying? It's fine to question, but I think we should be careful not to discredit someone just because they are new or, dare I say, just because they are not singing the praises of Raff's? This forum is ...

The aftermath
Just wanted to say how much I've enjoyed the debate over the last couple of weeks. Some of you, I must admit, I may have ended up throwing a pint over in a pub if we had discussed it face-to-face ( perhaps not in the Dolphin 'cos it's not that kind of place!) but many I would have bought a pint for ...

I very much agree with digime 2007 " the tories are desperate for power" But, unfortunately they seem to have done extremely well- no concessions on the economy, europe, immigration, trident and it seems little on electoral reform (a referendum - perhaps - on the smallest possible change) -and, am I ...

Yep, the Lib Dems certainly did do things differently in Southwark- they effectvely handed power over to the tories who only had 6 seats! Indeed the Lib Dem Cllr that Poppy mentions was herself a tory councillor until about Feb this year when she defected to the Lib Dems. They failed to listen to ...

I'm hoping the Lib Dems consider what has happened in London - They happily climbed in bed with the tories in areas such as Southwark and Camden last time around and were seriously punished by their voters for it on Thursday night. On those occasions they opted to work with the tories even though ...

I agree with Juwlz, only I trust the Lib Dems about the same amount as the tories - look at their form - always first to jump in bed with the tories. Interestingly they are more than happy to team up with the minority parties locally while their Leader pronounced last week that they would never do ...

Ibere, not sure which electroral ward you live in but it certainly won't cover a very large area. This looks like the check list which the Council used to determine suitable venues - can you think of something more approporiate which is in your immediate vicinity and ticks all these boxes? If so ...

I remember my school closing for the day to become a Polling Station, the signs being placed around the perimiter and at the gates. I remember my mum and my teachers telling me that it was for a very important reason. Later in life my son's school did the same thing and it facinated and interested ...

leenewham - I agree with you, and a good example of this is the Bellenden Regeneration Scheme. Managed by Southwark Council it aimed to improve the presentation of shops and residential frontages with grants and loans and it has changed the area completely. They also worked with local artists to ...

I am definitely more concerned about Sydenham than CP...and I don't mind sharing my habits. Eating out - a couple of times a week generally. If in Sydenham then The Dolphin, sometimes Trattoria Raffaels or the Dartmouth. I think there is better food in East Dulwich or Central London though. Shopping ...
