Where can I recycle my broken printer?

The council pointed me to the New Cross centre - but its a bit of a faff, nevermind the petrol!

Anyone know anywhere more local?

I've just had a very interesting reply from Southern about the gates. Apologies if I'm repeating what people already know. Here it is in full: Thank you for e-mail addressed to my Managing Director, Chris Burchell, about the proposed cessation of unsupervised access through the side gates at Forest ...

Recommendation for builder/decorator

Thought I'd pass on a tip for a builder / decorator I found through ratedpeople.com: Company is International Builders, contact name is Anthony on 07846 486188. They're based in Catford. They do most general building work. They've just removed and fitted my old living room ceiling & were the only ...

Can you recommend a builder or handman?

My living room ceiling needs repairing, either new boards (lots of mess) or boards over the existing ceiling. I understand its about 2 days work.

Can anyone recommend a reasonably priced builder or handyman - I've been let down twice now & am getting a bit frustrated with it all!

Broken pinter/copier - can you help?

My hp psc 2179 all-in-one printer, scanner & copier has just broken. The bit which whizzes along when photocopying has jammed & there's a rather suspicious looking belt that's detached itself.

Anyone know where I could get it repaired?

I recommend F Bull and sons. I found them recommended elsewhere on this forum a couple of years ago & they have been fantastic. Friendly, reliable and incredibly cost effective. Unit 5 Abbey Trading Estate, Bell Green Lane, London, SE26 5TW, 020-8659-9979 They've changed oil for under £20, polished ...

Can anyone recommend someone local?

Sydenham seems pretty safe to me - I've never had any problems at all walking to & from the station at night or getting on & off buses. One thing that does set Sydenham apart from other places I've lived, is that it has a strong community feel. This really does make me feel safer when I'm out ...

Water supply problem?

I have no water this morning (I live on Kirkdale) and Thames Water say this is because of work on Crystal Palace Parade on the mains.

Seems a bit far away to me to be the cause, but they seem to be certain. Is it just me...?

The Dolphin is lovely & everything, and it's made a huge difference to that part of sydenham road.

Trouble is, like the Dartmouth Arms, its got very few veggie options & the wine is sooo expensive.

It's a real, real shame, as I'd like to like it more.....If you see what I mean...

Isn't the real issue that we all want Sydenham Road to offer a good mix of shops, bars & cafes? A place we all want to visit & bring our friends to. I'd like to know how we're going to make this happen. Having read all these well written postings (which seem to me to be entirely fair), I was ...

Anyone for a curry?

Cafe Jeera on Dartmouth Road do excellent curries, the food's fresh & very tasty & reasonably priced. The staff are friendly too. Best of all the food's consistently good. Their vegetable rice is the best I've ever tasted!

Curry house

There's a fantastic very small curry house on Dartmouth Road (not sure if we're allowed to name local businesses, so I won't) sufficice to say it's well worth the extra few mins walk. You might also like to join the Sydenham Society see www.sydenhamsociety.com it's very cheap & you get 4 newsletters ...
