Re: New houses
I live opposite the proposed development and in theory support it as it does seem to be in keeping with the houses around it (although i'll miss the lovely school building) and not covered in blergh cladding. Worried how little parking spaces have been allocated though -- it's already tough to park ...

Re: Sockpuppets on t'other forum
Yeah but if you were a local teacher, youth leader, pastor, business owner, councilor, playworker (any job where you need a fair amount of public trust) you really wouldn't want Chris Beach on the attack, given the lengths he'll go to include accusing you of stuff on his widely read forum, using ...

Re: Sockpuppets on t'other forum
Really don't like the idea of an anonymous collection of accounts though, sorry. If someone irl was rude or v goady or unpleasant (but not doing anything illegal) then collecting everyone's account of that person's behaviour and posting it on the noticeboard by the station wouldn't be OK. So this ...

Re: Sockpuppets on t'other forum
Oooh, is flavia baker picking up some of the slack? To go back to sockpuppeting briefly - I've noticed a non-mod on the other forum making reference to editing titles of threads. Assuming that this isn't a standard ability, would I be right in thinking that's a CB sockpuppet? Edit: I idly ...

Re: Sockpuppets on t'other forum
Ah. Yes, I imagine Chris could be right there, Dick, as that's to do with the data they keep and store? Although who knows as the legislation while well intentioned is extremely confusing. But yes, GDPR doesn't cover what people write on forums or social media. That's covered by usual laws for libel ...

Re: Sockpuppets on t'other forum
Just read Nicola's post on SE23.com. Feel a little guilty about my levity upthread as the effect this has had on Nicola and her family is absolutely horrible. I've actually met a few trolls and former trolls (IRL!), and, to an extent, they see the internet as a game. They like the attention, they ...

Re: Sockpuppets on t'other forum
Poor Nicola, what a huge waste of her time. Thank you for this update. I look forward very much to the complete restoration of the Flava Baker thread, as promised by .Life mods.

Re: Sockpuppets on t'other forum
Bwahhahahhahah. At last, a Beachy tribute act!
I'd been so seriously considering flogging some Flava Baker merch (T shirts? Mural designs?) but this is waaay better.

Re: Sockpuppets on t'other forum
Also, to labour a point. Having a forum owned by someone who shuts down any discussion that don't suit him, and could flounce off at any point he isn't being agreed with or appeased and shut the forum down ISN'T great for our community. It's terrible for our community. Mark Zuckerberg isn't going to ...

Re: Sockpuppets on t'other forum
Pauline, you're right, of course. However, the people that collect your personal data in the form of cookies don't live in your community. They don't have well documented history of having 'enemies' (jeeeeeezus), or arguing with people about stuff (you know, like teenagers on the internet do ...

Re: Sockpuppets on t'other forum
OK, I might be a little over invested in this a-thousand-times-better-than-Love-Island thread... But can I just repeat one more time, CRN my B*LLS. Because for a CRN to happen Chris Beach would have had to walk into his local Tunbridge Wells cop shop (or ring them, but that doesn't work too well ...

Erm, hate to ask but if the rumours of Chris Beach living in Tonbridge are true, did nicola check in with the police there?

Re: Sockpuppets on t'other forum
Well I'm not saying it's the ideal solution but if they want to keep the site up it might be the only one? Beachy won't have a thread up that makes him look mega daft or step down as admin and owner because the. Life sites are part of his portfolio to show clients. I feel like he's shot himself in ...

Re: Sockpuppets on t'other forum
I feel like a dramatic tie up with something else exciting, like the big aldi finally opening could be really effective? If there's going to be a big dance set piece ending it should be in the car park out front?

Re: Sockpuppets on t'other forum
The main issue is we all saw this latest 'twist' a mile off. Rachel, in the novelisation of this thread can you change it so it turns out someone utterly blameless seeming is behind the whole thing? No one suspected.... the walrus....

Re: Sockpuppets on t'other forum
Surely a p serious matter to strongly imply that someone is subject to a police investigation on a public forum? That with the fake accounts and original thread seems like a sustained campaign but id imagine nicola utterly sick of it all and wants to move on. Hopefully. Life mods can issue a public ...

Re: The Drowning Place - Beckenham Place Park
Grew up near a quarry that was used for swimming and sadly a few children died. The danger is when it gets deep suddenly. Yes, very worrying. I'll go, but it's good to be aware that we should take extra care. Thanks for flagging.

Re: Sockpuppets on t'other forum
Pauline, our point is that although two people might be mudslinging on social media only one of them owns se. 23 life. That's the issue. Trust. It's still not public that Chris was using sock puppets and bringing his personal gripes onto a site that people assume is moderated by disinterested ...
