Re: Big crash outside station - Sydenham road closed
My wife sees the same car - a black BMW - every morning, who cannot be bothered to queue in the traffic driving up the hill, and subsequently drives (at considerable speed) up the high street on the wrong side of the road, and cuts in further up. She has reported it on a number of occasions, to the ...

We've been going there as a family, for years, and have never had a bad experience with any of the doctors.
Re: Dolphin.
I find unsupervised adults on forums, much more of a worry.
.....along with people who dont like children, as I find they are usually hiding something.

Re: Dolphin.
There is no point in getting involved in this again, it's been done toomany times, and simply alerts newcomers to the forum to the fact that Sydenham has some strange people lliving here (unless the newcomers are sprightly octarians)

Re: SilverDale Old Sorting Office
I had a couple of meetings with the owner, a couple of years ago, with a view to leasing the building from him. It all fell apart due to his odd ideas about business. He used to have Oola Boola Antiques on Kirkdale, before he sold and it was developed as Tesco Express. He just seems to be sitting on ...

We tried it out too the other night, and it was very good indeed, very fresh, light batter, and better than others I have tried in the area. Off (local) subject slilghtly - we went to The Crystal Palace Market the other night (on the site of the old Noodle Bar, at the far end of the Parade. I have ...

Re: 3 Cheers for the Coffeeman at Sydenham Station!
No need to worry - he was there this morning.
He must have to keep stocking up with coffees - on the other platform - so that's maybe when people miss him

Re: Going over old ground - The Hound that is Grey
I see there had been a whole scaffold erected around the back, when I passed this morning.
Does this mean things are finally happening - or is it purely for the mural?

Re: New McDonalds for Sydenham
I think that's pretty positive to be honest - I dont see what all the fuss is about McDonalds. You can hardly blame McDonalds for the obesity problem - to the best of my knowledge they dont put any sort of addictive substances in their food, so the responsibility lies with the consumer (so to speak ...

Re: Going over old ground - The Hound that is Grey
On my way to the station this morning, walking down Spring Hill, I noticed the first piece of grafitti has appeared at the back of the old building.
It only looks like a 'tag' with one of those big marker pens, but that is often how it starts.

St Christophers Hospice
Again, apologies if this is covered elsewhere, but did anyone know that St Christophers is, in effect, closed, due to Legionnaires Disease? From my limited knowledge, someone (a cleaner?) caught Legionnaires, so the hospice was closed, in order to trace the source, and begin what is usually a very ...

Re: Is our nice new pavement a little bit slippy?
I have been thinking the same - and we havent had a cold snap yet. If they do turn out to be really slippy, the corner of Lawrie Park Road and Westwood Hill will be treacherous. I hope not though, as they have done such a great job of the work - surely the materials they use are tried and tested for ...
