Sadly, the time has come for us to leave Sydenham. Part of this involves having the windows cleaned for the landlords before we go. The previous person that we used has just retired in the past month, so I'm in search of a recommendation for a one-off clean of exterior windows on a relatively small ...

We've never had a problem with the one on Lawrie Park Road, just down from the junction with Westwood Hill / Sydenham Rd.

I didn't see anyone while there, but it was pretty packed. Apologies if anyone turned up and went unattended! Very good band, we enjoyed ourselves.

We will be there around 9.15pm in any regard. I'll look for those I recognize; if anyone is looking for me I'll be in a black jacket with a red scarf and glasses.

Much as I'd like to, I can't really fault the Royal Mail. Some pavements are clear, but some are extremely slippery, and if you spend several hours out delivering mail the odds are pretty good that you'll fall at some point. I know I still have to be careful on the pavements on Lawrie Park Road ...

Everything going through Sydenham to London Bridge seems to be delayed as of 20 minutes ago. Some by a few minutes, some by 30+, some undetermined (just "Delayed").

Gates at London Bridge are closed to prevent overcrowding. I made it in and onto the train, waiting to leave now. Not many people here, I've been on much more crowded trains.

So I'm happy, not sure about the people waiting outside though.

They're running 4-carriage trains on this route, according to the board/announcements. This is not going to be pretty when the train gets here.

Well, the 7.32am that was planned is delayed by "11 hours 20 minutes" according to the announcement (much derisive laughter from commuters), next service at 8.02am, and the platform is already packed with people. The platform and footbridge have indeed not been cleared and are practically deathtraps ...

Station side gate is frozen shut, don't bother with it. Go straight round via the ticket office.

Can't get through to a human on rail enquiries. The "train tracker" phone service reports full service, same as the website. Nothing to do but check it out in person, I suppose.
