Re: ANNOUNCEMENTS PLATFORM 1 SYDENHAM STATION
SILENCE IS GOLDEN! It has been sheer bliss for the last couple of days. I haven't heard Mr Jobsworth aka Megaphone Man, and it is really noticeable :D Just goes to show what the power of the press and a few disgruntled people can acheive. I agree that the station staff are friendly. Whenever I use ...

Re: ANNOUNCEMENTS PLATFORM 1 SYDENHAM STATION
Hopefully he won't be so bad now (fingers crossed anyway). It's been quoted as he's replaced/replacing the tannoy announcements, but he seems to be working alongside the announcements and notice display. Everytime a train is announced over the tannoy he looks to see when the train is coming down the ...

Are Trains running?
Hi, I was actually on the broken down train (15.35) last night for 3 HOURS. Left work at 15.20 in the hope of being home maybe within the hour  and eventually arriving home at 18.55! The train had problems once it had passed New Cross Gate because of the icy track and the inclines on the way ...

18 months ago the gate to platform One wasn’t open so the current problems with the parking didn’t exist. I’m sure that if residents were asked now what they felt about having a cpz introduced that they would jump at the chance. If not a cpz, then waiting restrictions would be another solution. As to ...

I fully support gillyjp on this one. Everything she mentions about having to live next to an ashtray, people parking so that residents can't park outside their own property and all the rubbish etc. is bad enough :x , but having people still using the street and also the alley in Peak Hill Gardens as ...

Tasha - I'd be very much in favour of erecting a solid fence/wall or some other protection along the back of the platform to divide Spring Hill residents from the station. When TFL take over the running of the station at the end of the year, their first aim is to widen the platform at this side of ...

There will be Oyster Card readers at the entrance to both platforms 1 and platform 2 - so you will still be able to enter and leave the station from both platforms as you can at present. I have just heard from Southern that the target date for having Oyster Card readers operational on this line is ...

About living next to the station
it wouldn't be too hard to erect barriers across the end of the platform just as you turn left after entering the gate. the trains stop a bit further up from this point. does anyone know what's happening? it's no good pissing and moaning about what might happen, rather than what's going to happen ...
