You could try Jose Chebeto Requena. He is Sydenham based (07882520108 or veneducate@gmail.com)
He is a very experienced teacher and a bit multi-talented: a professional clarinetist, saxophonist, pianist and teacher with extensive experience in a great variety of genres, including classical, jazz ...

Re: Hillcrest Estate development
Good to see someone speaking out about this. Designated site of importance for nature conservation, part of the great north wood matters to me. Also the community centre, from which the community have been sadly locked out.

Re: Litter on the streets of Sydenham
Are people still intending to meet this Saturday 3rd March, 11 am at the Golden Lion, dejunking the streets of Sydenham, or do you think we should postpone for say a fortnight given the weather?

Re: New houses proposed
Can I just hijack this thread a little further - would recommend all just interested in plaudits for these proposals to look away now - though on the narrow question, I am curious about what people in general think of the design, including the rear (view from the railway) and side elevations of this ...

Re: New houses proposed
I do seem to be out on a limb here, don't I?
In my first post, I referred to sites for c20,000 dwelling sites having already been found through the local planning process for Lewisham a few years back to cover the period to 2016. That's not a process for building nothing nowhere. We do have a ...

Re: New houses proposed
When looking for the plans, I found the first link Tredown Man gave didn't work but the second one did and the planning file was there.
Tim Lund, I agree I overstepped the case with 'always' a cost - I am prone to overgeneralisation when upset. 'Usually' or 'often' would probably have done. But I ...

Re: New houses proposed
Had a look at the plans to see what you were so enthusiastic about. I guess tastes differ.
And a shame we still have to build right up against the railway line - though perhaps residents will sleep better than on some of our busier A roads - amazes me that we still encourage new residential build ...

Community Centres in Sydenham
The community centre on the Hillcrest Estate has been closed for the last 3 years. Apparently it was underused. Now the plan is to pull it down and replace it with a block of flats. More people, fewer facilities. Ironically, we learn about the development plans a 15 minute walk or so away because ...

Wondering what you might be reading for February. Wasn't able to make the January meeting but interested in the possibility in future if there was space still.

Re: Litter on the streets of Sydenham
The whole litter question bothers me too, however green-ink-brigadey the issue feels.
Some of my neighbours have been quietly taking matters into their own hands and their efforts do make a real difference but the volume of litter seems over-whelming.
There have also been some volunteer litter ...

Re: Recording of Sydenham Assembly 2nd December 2017
Appreciate you posting this - always seem to miss these events and curious as to what gets discussed.
And impressed by the quality of the recording as far as I went.
That said, I have balked at sitting through nearly 2 hours of recording - the Mixcloud interface doesn't seem to give me an option ...

Thanks for the helpful post and good to hear of your positive experience.

Fly tipping and Lewisham Council's response
A neighbour was asking for help today to get some fly tipped mattresses on public open space closer to the side of the road.
Says past experience tells her the Council won't deal with fly tipping if the waste is not plainly visible to all. I confess I've never asked them myself to deal with that ...

Re: Boilers R Us
I too had a boiler fitted by Progas. I opted for a 10 year guarantee. They were pleasant, straightforward and easy to deal with and (if only 2 years later) the boiler has caused no trouble at all. I would use them again.
