are they planning to also refurbish the bridge connecting the 2 platform? is all rusting and I wonder if this is also part of the plan.
I am slightly jealous of forest hill station as very pretty plus has a lift which is very handy when you have 2 twins of 12 months.

Re: Newlands Park
It would surely make more sense to have Byne and Wiverton as one-way only in opposite directions for the duration, wouldn't it? I know it's bad enough living in those roads at the best of times, traffic-wise. Is anyone on Twitter, and could get something done about this? Contractors seem to react ...

Re: Poundstretcher in old co-op site
I am very disappointed too but have been hoping there was no truth in the rumours. Has it been confirmed that it’s Poundstretcher? Thanks gosh I just read this and it's very disappointed indeed. feels like Sydenham is not in for a change. We don't need more crappy shop where virtually nothing u ...

Re: Some sort of bar/beer shop
I am so pleased to see new shop opening and shop that are not pound shop or convenient stores. Competition is good and I think this one will do well and Bobs will be fine. Competition keeps owner on their toe all the time. I have also tried Clapton Craft in Forest Hill and it has very good selection ...

I have noticed too and I really liked it. would like to see more around Sydenham and I certainly look into this for my house Lovely stuff. Wonder if it’s unfinished or not re: difference between left and right hand parrots. Suspect (after a little google!) it’s by Aero /Aeroarts who have done a few s ...

Re: Sydenham too tatty for Caffe Nero
what are your changes if that does not involved chains? I have expressed mine and lots of them they don't involve chains at all So are you saying that our high street is fine as it is and can stay like this for the next 10 years? Not at all - of course I want change, but the right change. I just don ...

Re: Sydenham too tatty for Caffe Nero
Thanks for your reply Rod, it's clear that we both have Sydenhma at heart otherwise we won't take our time to reply on this Forum. Let's forget about Nero however the major points that we have too many empty shops and too many shops that are the same is a reality. I can understand your resistance in ...

Dear Rod Taylor I found you somehow on the rude side, but again this is called Forum Forum a NOUN "a meeting or medium where ideas and views on a particular issue can be exchanged" I respect your views but I don't tolerate you writing me I want to make fast buck on my investment, you have no ideal ...

Re: 2017 Decent Christmas Decorations in High Street?
Noted :-) and indeed I care very much about the place I lived now for over 8 years conti16 it's clear you have have many frustrations about Sydenham and seem to care about it passionately.. However I think the 'tatty high street' thread is the place for this, otherwise all posts seem to get dragged ...

Re: 2017 Decent Christmas Decorations in High Street?
Just to clarify to all that the Mafia meaning referred to the authorities as ultimately they make the decision so who ever got offended please there is no need. This Forum is a place of discussion and exchanges of ideas. Re the Xmas Tree is pure fact that every year ( I can only talk from 2009-16) I ...
Re: Aldi
Aldi and Lidl, are cheap and not what the high street needs. Why strive for bottom of the barrel, when we can aim for much higher. I agree with you, the area need to aim for higher. I personally love lidl many good quality items but I think we have enough variety of food places on the high street ...

Re: Sydenham too tatty for Caffe Nero
I am some what disappointed that the high street of Sydenham has not managed to get better ( been here since 2009). A few good changes but nothing drastic and everything seems so slow while neighbours are booming. It feels that people here don't want the change but happy to carry on in the mediocre ...

Re: 2017 Decent Christmas Decorations in High Street?
Can the local representatives of the council please ensure that Sydenham has decent lamppost/street decorations in the High Street this year? And a half decent, bushy, Christmas tree with proper colourful Christmas lights? Is it too much to ask if we can possibly have a better looking town centre ...

Re: Sydenham too tatty for Caffe Nero
Thank you for your comment below, I totally agree with you and I do firmly believe that because of people like the one commenting the changes will never happen. As said many times I don't particular like Nero but it's a brand that would have attracted other brands like a M&S equal to business. I am ...
