Re: Overground???

I like 'The Orange Line'. :D I'll be using that name from now on. Maybe it will catch on. Ex-colleagues of mine refer to it as the “hipster express” The more important problem is that “the overground” is a network but when disruption is reported it just says “delays on the overground” which is usele ...

Here is the most relevant part of his reply (only edited out the least important bits as it wld become too wordy and they were of no relevance): I have never shared a platform with any National Front, National Party or British National Party representative. Liberty GB are just the latest ...

Re: Parliamentary Election Hustings

It appears this is who is going: And 38 degrees should empty seat him…with a bottle of Henderson's Sauce. I believe the best options for an empty seat are: Chocolate teapot (hard to find at short notice); A block of lard; a stuffed chicken. Any of these would do. Is someone going to record the e ...

Re: #RebuildTheGreyhound - pub to be rebuilt by April 2015?

There is a council in Surrey where a residents association party often wins the election, perhaps Sydenham needs this to get these Labour types who have been so useless out, and scare the rest of the council into action.

Re: Parliamentary Election Hustings - 24th April

If the venues are a problem could I suggest someone picks a park and a moderator and stage an alternative. If someone won't show up empty chair them. The events could be organised at the same times as the cancelled hustings to remove excuses of "diary clash." This really is a farce if candidates can ...

Re: Parliamentary Election Hustings - 24th April

I would be interested to hear from Labour if it was indeed them who derailed the event. If so the organisers should empty chair Dowd (would fit with my experience of him), you could always take the “Have I got News for you” approach. It would hardly be difficult to deal with the wiews of a man who sa ...

Re: Jim Dowd: a man with his finger on the pulse.

On the one occasion I have ever had reason to approach him in a matter that was a “practical” option he was: 1) absent (didn’t turn up to the surgery) 2) incompetent (he entirely missed the point, just forwarding on the issue on and seemed to accept any response as an “informative” one). I have had a ...

The absence of the Lib Dems in Sydenham ward was very disappointing. As for the Greens and Tories, it seems they were scratching around for candidates until the very last minute, hence seeking further afield. Perhaps all the Lib Dems in SE26 are too busy, I would hope that parties would select ...

I had very similar problems during the Mid 90's when living in Inchmery Road, Catford. We lived in a converted house and lived on the ground floor. The kids upstairs would be running about at 3am screaming, etc. Ask the neighbour politely to try and keep the kids quite...... About 6 months later I ...

I have to agree Willy, the same was true the few days leading up to Christmas as well. A quick question, does anyone know where there are details of the different floor areas of sites on the high street?
