Re: Sydenham DO strike breaking
Got a Royal Mail email this morning saying a parcel would be delivered today. The surprise was it arrived. Not by our postman, not in a Royal Mail van but in an unmarked black van. I assume the Forest Hill/Sydenam DO managers hired in strike breakers who crossed picket lines. I could have waited a ...

Re: Resolution from Sydenham Local Assembly re: BGNF and Area
There was a public consultation about whether to approve the Bell Green Neighbourhood Area boundary, which was publicly discussed over 2 years. Almost all the public respondents approved; a handful of councillors didn't. Lewisham’s director of planning rejected the boundary, and designated an area o ...

It is a veritable Christmas/ winter wonderland, I've heard tell it's the same illuminator who used to decorate Regent Street back in the heyday of high st displays.

Re: Bell Green Neighbourhood Forum proposals...
Let's stop all the bickering and infighting, I'm sure given time normal people and those from Bellingham can all just work together.
Although obviously being more industrious and smarter the Sydenham folk will do the vast majority of the leg work but let's not quibble about semantics until later.

Re: What do you think about The Golden Lion?
El Cid you've raised something ( and put in a more eloquent way than I could have managed) I've often thought when I've compared the GL with the Dolphin. The Golden Lion isn't a bad little pub, slight problem with the real ale quality now and then but always great service by polite welcoming bar ...

Who's standing in the Sydenham by election in May?
I've had a check and unfortunately The Official Monster Raving Loony Party will not be fielding a candidate this time round, unsure about Lord Bucket Head.

Re: St Philip Neri school: Archdiocese appeals planning enforcement order
Joy to the world. On Christmas eve, the responsible Lewishambles officer told me that, due to COVID-19 striking the Archdiocese’s agent, the planning inquiry’s statement of common ground hadn’t been progressed. That means there has been no agreement on how to limit the scope of the inquiry, or to sa ...

Sydenham Panther aka The Beast of Sydenham. The following understated article from back when captures the mood perfectly- Fear stalks the streets of Sydenham.. especially like the reference to blossom filled streets! Re: New Gym for Sydenham
Sydenhamites deserve a Harvey Nichols express or at the very least for Heston Blumenthal to open a Fat Duck style eatery. I have written to both extolling the virtues of London's most up and coming neighborhood and attached photos of Sydenham High St to give them an idea of just how dynamic the area ...

I, for one, hope the Harris Sydenham is not named after the now disgraced ex-Sydenhamonian Rolf!!! Scandalous if it is.

Sad news, it appears some bandits have vandalised the Meglasaorous: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-52789270
Lots of happy memories going to visit the dinasours both as a kid and with my own children. Hopefully they apprehend the perpetrators and make them pay for the damage.

Re: Social distancing on the High Road
Hi all, the lockdown worked so well some people think the pandemic is over. The traffic and people outside my home on Friday and yesterday was quite shocking and not one mask. It’s not the flu it’s more like airborne HIV and there is no guarantee of immunity as there are 3 distinct mutations. There ...
