Re: Beer Steer
Worth updating this to say that The Greyhound has an above average selection of local beers to try. On draught they have Kernal Pale Ale, Beavertown Gamma Ray and Gypsy Hill Hepcat, which are all very good. The Darkstar ales are also worth trying too.

Re: Beer Steer
Good shout on Canopy, definitely one of the better SE London brewers and with the Bullfinch taproom virtually next door you can try a lot of beer without going far. It's possibly a little out of date now but the SE London Beer Hunt map is still a good resource for people wanting to find out what's ...

Re: Beer Steer
Hi there, I think the important thing is to get out there and try new things. The staff in BOB, Bottlecave and The Alexandra know their stuff so can guide you. Also, in pubs in particular don't be worried about asking for a sample of a few things. If you want to jump in at the deep end then Chandos ...

Re: #RebuildTheGreyhound - pub to be rebuilt by April 2015?
They have their beer/ale list up on a chalkboard outside at the moment. I didn't have a chance to get a good read of it, but there is a list for the main bar and a list for the "festival bar". £4 per pint which seems reasonable considering we are not talking "Fosters, Carling" etc :) I'm 99% sure ...

Re: Zanara Court
Dare I ask where the residents of Zanara Court will park their cars? The residents in the surrounding roads struggle to park their cars due to Sydenham Station commuters, Sydenham Road Shoppers and the endless shop staff and estate agents parking their cars in the area. Residents can't park and now ...

They're 2/3 for sure.Nigel wrote:Does anyone know the precise size of those glasses ? Lee referred to them as schooners ( 285ml) which makes the just over half a pint ( and bloody expensive therefore ) .

Re: The Alexandra
Personally I think the Alexandra is a great addition to the local scene. They have up to 10 different kegs and 3 different cask ales on at any time, not to mention a really well stocked fridge. Personally, I really enjoy the 2/3 pint measure - it means I can try more beers and I don't get too messed ...
