Re: Old Floor Zone shop let

ha ha! I'll also join the me too list.

I was looking to redo my hall, living room and bathroom, not the largest floor in the world but reasonable enough. Chatted to them in the shop and they seemed alright, said they call to let me know when the samples were available, never heard from them after ...

Re: Gorgeous new garden centre in Parish Lane

I'm glad someone posted about it on here as I wouldn't have known it was there as it's not a direction I go very often, but did a detour to go and check it out.

Re: Gorgeous new garden centre in Parish Lane

Another vote from me too, it's a lovely place. Popped in there the other week and picked up some really healthy looking herbs.

Will be going back to get a lavender plant soon, ran out of space in my bike panniers the last time.

Re: FREE METAL FOR ALL

I live fairly close to the new sculptures and have to say I'm not a huge fan, maybe they'll grow on me. Cynically I'm not surprised the artist remains unnamed, to me the sculpture really lacks much beauty. Don't get me wrong I'm a fan of much modern art and even the most brutalist architecture can ...

Re: Keen cycle nuts in Sydenham ?

I had a go on one of the bikes today, good fun. They are heavy and not exactly nippy but still fine to ride and good for what they're designed for, short trips in central London.

I'll still use my Brompton as my main bike but for days when I've not cycled in, the cycle hire bikes are a useful ...

Re: Keen cycle nuts in Sydenham ?

So has anyone had a go on the new cycle hire bikes?

Alas I'm still waiting for my access key to arrive in the post so couldn't give one of the bikes a spin today, but will definitely give one a go next week.

I think it's a really positive move and I have my fingers crossed that it's going to be a ...

Re: Keen cycle nuts in Sydenham ?

I'll hold my hand up to being another Sydenham cyclist, mainly only for commuting though, tend to run on the weekends rather than get the bike out.

My commute is Lower Sydenham to Euston 4-5 times a week, or thanks to the East London Line on my lazier days a quick cycle to the station, fold the ...

If you insist on cycling on main roads you should expect to experience all the nastiness that goes with it

You make it sound like I use main roads just to be awkward. I use them because they're the fastest way to get from A to B and, usually, the only way. I pay my council tax ...

There's a fairly new bike shop opened up on Creek Road in Greenwich, Cycles UK. It's about 200 metres west of Deptford Creek. Popped in there on my commute home and they were really helpful.

I was also wondering how easy it is to use (and get hold of) a bicyle around Sydenham.

I bike round the sydenham area, it's a good way of getting about locally and it's fine as long as you have your wits about you, usual amount of drivers who would benefit from paying more attention. As for ...

Went for the free trial class of British Military Fitness on Saturday and really enjoyed it, I will be signing up to attend regularly, even though I'm fairly achy today.

I'm a member of Dulwich Park Runners and can recommend it as a friendly and social running club.

I know from experience that the postal service round here is not the greatest, the tendency for no post for days and then a huge pile does seem to suggest stockpiling.

Also had stuff go missing, such as cheques, it's just a hassle for them to cancelled and re-sent (though to an SE23 address which ...

Ta Sebab, I had somewhat lost my sense of humour when, for the 4 or fifth time I rang the EDF line and they said 11pm.

I did start to think that power wouldn't come on for days!

As I said, I really hope there aren't any more power cuts tonight.

Gosh, I hope the power doesn't go out this evening, went without power for 18 hours yesterday (though technically we did get 5 minutes mid afternoon but it the went again), got all a bit dull.

This was down on Adamsrill Road, though I think some neighbours got power back before others, mine ...

I live nearish home park (adamsrill road) and like the area. I walk to Sydenham station in the morning and home in the evening, takes about 12-15 minutes. Although I'm a little bit closer to Lower Sydenham it is in zone 4 so pushes up my season ticket cost about £15 a month and as a single female, I ...

This still seems to be an issue, yesterday a car on Champion Crescent had a broken window and I'm pretty sure there was one today on Burghill road.

Whoever is the culprit(s) seems to be able to continue damaging vehicles with little regard to the law or getting caught.

I'm faintly depressed by it ...
