Re: Zanzibar withdraws appeal
I have not witnesses the problem with noise at Zazibar but I have left a night club in the middle of a residential area in Bethnal Green called the Bethnal Green Working Mens Club. The bouncers there were incredible insistent on taking every clubber aside and telling them how they had to leave the ...

Re: Garden waste collection
Glad to hear your experience is more positive. I'll need to persevere. And once my pin number arrives in the post I'll be able to do it online so hopefully it will be easier.
But £10 for the bags to pay for the service?

Garden waste collection
I'm missing the Garden Waste collection service at Girton Road. Anyone else?
I've relented and bought the green sacks - £10 for 20. What a con.
Trying to book the bags to be collected by the council is a once tried never again experience. You haven't got the time to hear my story. On top of that ...

Re: Say No To T£sco
I was very sad to hear about the Tesco application. Co-op at one end, Sainsbury's at the end feels more than enough of the giant chains for one high street. I prefer initiatives that will encourage local and independent businesses.

Re: 20mph zone proposed for 'Thorpes' area of Sydenham
I'm guessing I might be a lone voice here.
I am planning to tick the No box for the following reasons:
While I appreciate that physical traffic calming measures would very useful on Bishopsthorpe I do not want to see 24 new 20MPH repeater signs all over the Thorpes. I have been told that they will ...

Re: TfL disruption over Christmas/New Year
Does anyone know if there will be an extended timetable for New Year's Eve on the London Overground as there is on the underground and DLR? They seem to be running until 4.30am.

Re: WHAT IF no 13: BILLINGS Fishmongers & butchers
Delighted with Billings so far and are using them once a week at least. Saves a drive to Moxons in East Dulwich. Fresh mackerel was the best I've eaten. Looking forward to cooking new fish I've not tried before. Would like to see home made frozen fish stock available and maybe their own fish cakes ...

Flower thief
At some point last night, during the pouring rain, someone stole 9 geranium plants from our window boxes at the front of the house on Princethorpe Road. We only planted them about three weeks ago.
Is this common? I want to replace them but not if they're going to get stolen again.

Well done to the Carole Singers on the Thorpes last night. With the snow on the ground, it felt like a lovely start to Christmas. And for a good local cause too. Hope it becomes a tradition.

suspicious caller
Someone called around last night to our house in Princethorpe Road around 6.30pm saying that they were offering to do a free survey on the house related to the recent bad weather. They said they were new in the area and weren't selling anything! The man asked whether I owned the property or rented ...
