WHAT IF no3: REGAL DOORS becomes a BIKE SHOP?

Post by leenewham »

Ok, here is the latest what if.

Someone recently was asking about bike shops.

Cycling is on the increase and there are loads of cycle routes around here. Having been out on a bike recently I was amazed how many cyclists there are around here.

But Sydenham currently has no bike shop.

So what if...

More what if's to come.

Love this "what if" for "Regal Doors" as a Bike Shop. Sydders sure could do with one given the number of cyclists we see in these parts. Any prospective takers out there? Lee, even the name you suggest is fab! :)

There used to be a bike shop opposite LA Fitness called Behind Bars, which i thought was a great name. I dont think it was ever a functioning business whilst I've lived here though

It was operating when I moved to the area. Unfortunately it went just as I was buying a bike. I think that was about 3 years ago now.

Having a bike shop at the old regal doors shop makes sense as it has a much wider pavement there so they can put some bikes outside.

It's also a much more visible spot for passing cars, many of which will be stopped at the lights.

Plus, being totally honest, it's not far from where I live, so it's handy for me. :-).

Besides, I have other plans for 'behind bars' in another 'what if' coming soon.

Didn't there used to be a bike shop near LA Fitness?

Yes, that the 'behind bars' place. Ive seen various people looking around it (water much have leaked into the place at some point, the floor was as twisted as a kinky MP).

I presume this has been rectified (Chris from Sugahill can confirm this).

This is another 'what if' coming next week. (tease tease).

I've seen the roller shutter opened and lights on in this place.

Anyone know anything? There are still doors inside from it's stint as 'regal doors'.
