A Rather Special St George’s Day Event

Post by TDA »

Last year The Dolphin hosted an excellent Burns Night supper and this year we honour England's St. George with an evening of poetry and music. We are extremely pleased to welcome one of the best Shakespearian actors of our time, Simon Russell Beale, who has generously offered to recite lines alongside his close friend and ubiquitous star of stage and screen, David Haig (The Thin Blue Line, Four Weddings and a Funeral etc. etc.). They will read various works including extracts from Shakespeare and Kipling. A range of English poetry will be set to music by the accomplished duo ‘Little Machine’ and the evening will be hosted by Sydenham's very own Barry Milton.

There will also be a charity auction of a case of English ‘Champagne’ donated by Liberty Wine Company and a painting donated by Artdog London.

Tickets are priced at £30 per person including a three course dinner and a charitable donation. After advertising through our mailing list we have sold most of the tickets but 30 remain and are available now at The Dolphin 020 8778 8101. You can collect them in person or pay by card over the phone, but please do not call during peak service times. We will seat your party together, but you may have to share a table so that we can seat the maximum number in comfort with a clear view.

Friday 23rd April 2010 from 6.30pm (an early start because we have a lot to get through). It promises to be a really splendid evening.
