According to Wikipedia there is a Syd connection.

I believe so, though what are the agreed boundaries of Sydenham?

It's stretching it rather to claim that Kingswood House is in Sydenham. However, John Lawson Johnson lived much closer to Sydenham for a short time.

From about 1891-1892, while Kingswood was being converted and modernised for him, he lived at Moss Grange, 31 Sydenham Hill. The modern development called Woodsyre is now on the site. Technically, this is still in Dulwich.
