Juwlz Since we trade at least twice as much with the EU countries as they do with us it is nonsense for people to suggest that once we leave the EU they will stop trading with us. Peter Staveley What? How can we trade twice as much with EU as they do with us? This is physically impossible! This is ...

Juwlz The NET cash saving from not being in the EU is £7.6 billion per year. That would pay for a bit more of the NHS, education, policing, prisons etc. However, the real savings from not being in the EU are much higher. Firstly, the cash that we receive back has to be spent on projects that the EU...

Just thought I'd resurrect this thread, because this is an all time classic. Some of you may remember that, until about 4 weeks ago, there was a set of temp lights at the CP end of Sydenham Hill, while some contractors did water main work. The works were there for 3-4 weeks and involved digging a d...

Well I wish I could remember who repaired our washing machine - that was 8 or 9 years ago and its still going strong! Sometimes its just the pump that goes (that was what happened to ours anyway), in which case they just have to replace the pump and its certainly not as much as getting a new machine...

Thank you for your best wishes in the campaign. I hope that I have persuaded you to vote for UKIP. To be honest I won't be voting UKIP, I do still find them overall rather extremist, though its interesting to hear a bit of clarification of your policies. I read a bit of the full manifesto but alot ...

Pstaveley, Thanks for clarifying some of your policies in more detail. I am still confused about Europe as it seems all or nothing. I am not a politician and I don't know what the advantages of being in the EU are. There must be disadvantages if you're not int the EU. Presumably we wouldn't be able ...

marymck You are right,, this is exactly the type of thing that makes me mad too - the public should be able to use these facillities which they are paying for. I pay for a membership at Crystal Palace sports centre, yet last year the sports centre was closed to members several times so that private ...

Beckenham spa is a really great place and well run. The rest of the local sport centres I've been to treat the customers like their very existence is some kind of massive inconvenience. Crystal Palace sports centre has got to be the worst. There are some nice staff there but there's some sort of pro...

I went along and checked out the action at 'enter the home' on saturday night. Very interesting to see inside this house which has held some fascination for many sydenhamites as can be seen from the old forum link I have pasted below this post. Apparently the house is mainly used for photoshoots, an...

multisync –I didn't say the residents association was Wells park road. I live on Longton Avenue not on Wells park road but I live nearer the Wells park end so I would be pretty near the youth centre. If I lived right next door to it that would be fine by me too. There was already a youth club there ...

Well smith maybe you should take more interest in your area where you live, instead of getting all angry after people have tried to make a difference and improve the lives of young people in the area. There have been plenty of leaflets through the doors about this, but I expect you're one of those p...

Well I live in the Wells Park area and I am delighted about the new youth centre. Our residents association which represents the whole road sent a letter of support for the centre. I have not heard of a single person against it. You've got to remember this centre is not an old style youth-club ie. a...

Hi Ulysses Yes, its definitely worth going to the DWH. I must admit I only went there on monday because its the only place within walking distance (otherwise I would have gone to the Dolphin), and I was prepared for the worst but was pleasantly surprised. We had a nice evening there and I had no com...

I ate at the DWH on monday night. I'm pleased to see they have moved some sofas into the 'dining' area and changed the seating around to make it slightly less formal, so it looks to me as though you probably no longer have to eat to be in that part of the pub, though I didn't check what the actual p...
