I'm happy to be proved wrong but I have just done a search on the Lewisham planning website and could not find any planning applications for the construction of ticket gates on platform 1. Didn't the bloke from Southern (or was it the chap from TFL) say that plans had been submitted?

Until we get an answer from Southern I would just like some consistency from the station staff. I have pressed the button a number of times this week, sometimes they open the gate without a word, other times they give me a hard time, telling me I should go round (but do open it nonetheless)

I agree. I'm not sure that the Sydenham Society was representing the majority view on this issue. Admin- perhaps we could run a little poll to give us a bit of an indication?

There will be Oyster Card readers at the entrance to both platforms 1 and platform 2 - so you will still be able to enter and leave the station from both platforms as you can at present. That's good news. The guy in the station newsagents had said that they only planned to install barriers on platf...

Jim Dowd Statement on rail services

Not sure if anyone saw or heard this statement made by Jim Dowd in the House of Commons on 18th Dec: "I am delighted to have the opportunity to raise a couple of matters of particular concern to my constituents, although they have wider implications across south London. If I have time, I will r...

I think it is appropriate to link to this video. The first step to eliminating anti social behaviour is for the community to be aware of what is happening. I don't believe that anything changes by ignoring it and pretending it doesn't exist. These kids haven't posted the video on youtube in order to...

I'm conused. How are the people of Sydenham getting ripped off? Why should we boycott Londis?
It seems to me that the only people who have suffered are Somerfields and the lady who lost her job?

Confused? :?: :?: :?:

I've now looked through all the footage and and it looks quite a night and I'm sorry I missed it. I have two questions? 1. Where did they advertise this? I saw one leaflet in a cafe the Sat before, but it was too short notice to re arrange plans. 2. Why put it on so early? Judging by the number of p...

Roadworks in Kirkdale??

A load of markings and notes have been painted on the pavements on Kirkdale. It looks like they might be about to dig them up. Does anyone know what's going on?

Just wanted to say that I agree with stillrobbo. I think that it would be great to have concerts in Crystal Palace park. It would help put the place on the map. Better to have a few concerts there than have the place built on! I accept that there is the possibility of some disruption because of the ...
