Re: SYDENHAM STATION APPROACH IMPROVEMENTS
I'm not a fan of losing the toilets in favour of the community scheme, because are any of the local businesses going to stay open until the last train arrives at Sydenham? That toilet has been a life saver (or at least trouser saver!) on numerous occasions when travelling back late at night [ Post m...

Re: Digital SLR Cameras
I use a SONY A330. It is really good and has the added bonus that you can take photo's either using the "live view" screen or the viewfinder. I throughly recommend it and have taken some fantastic photos's in the 18 months since I have had it. I have also got a couple of Tamron lenses whic...

Re: Vote For Kirkdale Village Logo
Question . Where will we find the village green? What rubbish, Kirkdale village! Seems there are a large number of idiots ready to reside there! For your information, the Road between Bell Green and Cobbs corner was known as Sydenham Road ,From Cobbs Corner to the Woodman was Kirkdale and from the ...

Re: Vote For Kirkdale Village Logo
As a resident of Kirkdale Village I welcome this. We have been calling it this ourselves for a number of years now. Why? Because it has the feel and community spirit of a village. I can't see why people have a problem with it. I note that most of them don't actually live up here - is it jealousy tha...

And when are they going to replace the bench that that they removed beyond the 4 carriage stop point on
platform one? Or are we London Bridgers going to have to now stand in the rain without any service information?

Re: Snowing again / Trains / Travel
By some miracle the busses that have been stuck for the past two hours have now decided that they can move after all. Traffic beginning to move but it is treacherous

Re: Snowing again / Trains / Travel
I can confirm Robin's post. It is happening outside my window. There are at least seven buses stuck on Kirkdale and the junction with Dartmouth Road is completely blocked

Re: Snowing again / Trains / Travel
The trains are running this morning into London Bridge. There is about a 8 or 9 min delay on each one, which probably means you'll end up catching the one before the one you were aiming for! Overground seems to be running fine too. Good luck going to wherever you are going to, folks. [ Post made via...

Southern website: Due to heavy snow fall and adverse weather conditions, most of Southern services are currently suspended. There are no Southern services running south of East Croydon until further notice. We are now running a half hourly service between London Bridge and East Croydon, departing at...

Re: Weather and travel
Ok so Southern trains are running (I am on one) but not to any recognised timetable. London Overground trains aren't running (go figure) which means the trains that are running are absolutely packed. Good luck

Re: ANNOUNCEMENTS PLATFORM 1 SYDENHAM STATION
I totally agree. It's all part of the nanny state. We have managed for years to survive without some idiot shouting out the bl***y obvious without (I believe) any incident. Besides it appears to me that the yellow line is quite arbitrary - it is much further back than at tube stations where the trai...

Willy, exactly the same happened to me. I got a letter from Very asking me to contact them. When I did, they told me that someone had tried to set up an account in my name ad had ordered about £700 worth of electrical goods (which was what had made them suspicious). They hadn't provided any banking ...
We had a similar problem with our combination boiler and our very, very good plumber advised us to to do the following and it worked: When running hot water, such as in a bath or shower, turn on the hot water slowly, rather than opening up the taps at full pelt straight off. I'm no plumber but from ...

as someone who overlooks these buildings I would much rather have the current buildings rather than yet more empty, soulless retail units, which, at four storey's high, would block out the rather nice view that attracted me to my current property in the first place. I definitely object. Let's fill t...
