Re: Where the chuff does one start with a new kitchen?
What about an online virtual Kitchen planner like this one (might help to visualise some ideas): http://www.magnet.co.uk/kitchen-planner/ I've fitted my own in the past (after drawing out on paper) and found that it's easy to overlook the basic services and room structure. For example Doors/Windows ...

Re: Updating parking standards?
Sadly a lot of people today are selfish and quite frankly couldn't give a monkey's chuff about the environment or residents, as long as they themselves are not inconvenienced and can rely on their nice, warm and cosy cars to get them from A to B. Very much a fact Gilly. All we can do is enforce par...

Re: Updating parking standards?
I don't understand where this demand is coming from. Lewisham has one of the lowest rates of car ownership in the country. If the Council properly introduced and enforced residents only parking in the residential streets around the Borough there would be no problem. In Gilly's case it sounds like t...

Re: Updating parking standards?
At the risk of repeating myself on the burgeoning issue of commuter parking in the surrounding area of Sydenham station, all that would be needed is a 'resident's parking only' scheme between the hours of 12.00 - 2.00pm. Agree with you and have experience of this working very well. It still allows ...

Re: Stop people parking across my doorway to flat
I doubt that you would ideally want a large 'Fire Exit - Keep Clear' sign on, or next, to your door but who knows, it might just work.. https://encrypted-tbn2.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcSz8Wz-Ba2byGqTKF-Rq_ZS-C51wRayan26PA7C2oYi2Nx6UCKK5w By the sound of it the parking across your doorway...

A very distressing account, it sounds absolutely horrific! I hope your daughter soon forgets this sad event.
Would only be right and fair to report this to local Police, hopefully as you say, it could stop a further attack.
My sympathy to Gabrielleboyle and family.

Surely, the 6" apart planting out advice is only an approximation / average Tim.
I can see by your accurate geometric plan that you don't do approximation..
I must admit on first glance I did wonder why you were making 'Cat's Cradles' up the allotments.

I detest parking on the pavement. The pavement is for pedestrians .
