thank you for the Beckenham link. It was fascinating to watch the Crystal Palace footage. It was the age when children were children! All those people enjoying themselves on the spot that is now just a litter ridden area. I can't quite work out where some of the Kent House Rd pics were taken but the...

These are great!
Thanks. I'll tell my sister they are on here. She lives in half of one of these houses! These pics remind me of when we first moved into the road in 1970, hardly a car around! Anyone remember the Unwins that used to be on the corner of KH Rd and Watlington? We knew Fred and his sister Daisy who used...

most burglaries
are carried out in between those times are because a) They have just got up themselves - trying not to be too flippant. b) it's when they know a lot of people have gone to collect children from school and have probably forgotten to shut all the windows. I usually leave a radio on quite loud because ...

Near the Dulwich Wood House
Does anyone know what happened near the pub a little way along where there is a sort of shrine now. There must have been a terrible accident of some sort. Every time I drive past there is a new addition there.

They looked nice then!!! I also knew someone who lived at about 28? Opposite the man who rented most of the houses out in those days as the were mostly rented. We knew the Smith family at 120 and the Culley family.

Does this explain
why there are newer houses, i.e. the maisonettes up on the right in Fairlawn Pk, due to bomb damage? I knew someone who lived there in the 70's.

If I saw this happening
to my car or anyone else's ~I definitely wouldn't challenge whoever it was. Not worth losing your life or being injured over a lump of metal. My friend's husband did this and died of a heart attack due to the stress during the incident. I don't even bib anyone anymore as you can't guage the reaction...

Video on Forest Hill Baths
I enjoyed watching the video on Forest Hill baths very much. I was particularly interested in seeing the interior again as I haven't been inside since about 1973 when we used to go for swimming lessons from Sydenham Girls School, just a short walk away. I remember the gallery with tatty, ripped curt...

It was
either 1974 or 75. If I remember rightly a burger, chips & drink was 75p???? I also went to the first one opened in the South East in Woolwich earlier than that, they still have photos inside of their opening day. Corrrrrr what an exciting subject on a Thursday morning!!! LOL When we used to go ...
