One of the park rules in Manor House gardens reads "No Loud Music". Strolling past the tennis courts a couple of times recently during the "tennis zone" morning, the participants had a boom box belting away. What did Glendale's "rangers" do? Nothing. A bunch of useless ...

This is a chance for all residents to put their views forward and see for themselves how Lewisham, Hyde and SNT are dealing with this issue.
Another bleeding talking shop.

bensonby---its our duty as law-abiding citizens to challenge illegal and anti-social behaviour. We can't just leave it up to the police - Have you ever tried to take a stand? All you get from the rest of the public is a blank stare. I have no intention now of risking my life or limb for this dirty,...

It gets better. In Manor park I saw some young lady not just sitting on the picnic table with her feet on the bench, but with her feet on the table itself. You know, where mums on picnics with their kids put the food. Action from the "Rangers"? - bu**er all, of course. Edited slightly on t...

In a Glendale "maintained" park the other day;

The notice board of regulations says, among other things, "No Loud Music".

And there was a Glendale vehicle pumping out loud music.

What a load of worthless dickheads.

leaf: Im sure you know they have no authority to MAKE people do anything. According to the notice in Manor House Gardens they DO have the authority to issue spot fines for dog fouling. So if they can issue fines when dogs deposit filth on the grounds, why not when dirty humans deposit filth on seats?

Glendale

Why do those useless people who patrol the parks for Glendale call themselves "Rangers"? Rangers makes you think of things like Texas Rangers, resolute law enforcers who get things done. Whereas those lumps wandering around in Glendale uniforms cannot even, it appears, make a pack of pimpl...

Well, while we're on the bus - pun inteneded - how about those filthy rabble who put their dirty feet all over the seats.

Or is that just old floom being fussy, and we should all be happy to sit in shit with a vacant stare in our eyes?

Savvy: There is no way a bus driver would allow 5 buggies onto a bus.
Sorry, but that's what I saw. (3 plus a "double". Why would I want to complain about something that never happened?

Why did the driver let them on? Probably because he was too stupid to bother.

Juwlz: Yes it is getting a bit out of hand.. is there no end to floom's somewhat flimsy gripes?
So what do you do? Put up with each and every nuisance with a vacant smile on your face?

If no one ever says or does anything, things get worse!

buggies on buses

On a bus the other day, no less thanj four buggies on it, one of which was a double, so that really made five.

The aisles were completely blocked, and people getting on had no choice but to troop upstairs, whether they wanted to or not.

It's all getting a bit out of hand.

stuart: Should I call for a policeperson to ride shotgun on every TfL vehicle? I wish there could be a policeperson on every bus, given the dirty habits that some passengers have, pestering everyone with unwanted music, chucking litter around, and sticking their filthy feet up on the seats where ot...

You know how cyclists sometimes swerve up onto the pavement to go round a line of cars in front of them?

Well, on a bus in Lewisham the other day, I saw a MOTOR cyclist happily do the same.

Well good luck to him, I suppose. It had to come eventually. If one can do it, all can do it.

admin: it's not me who's abusing language, it's the trouble makers who take a perfectly innocent word, which has been used without offence to anyone for hundreds of years, and deliberately try to make it mean what it doesn't.

This is britian 2007, not Oceania 1984.

Excellent, lemonade. The PC people are intent on creating an atmosphere of fear and unease. Look at the row over the use of the word "niggardly" because of its first two syllables, when every one knows the origin of the word has nothing to do with skin colour. The PC people are hoping to b...
