I have been down to see the replacement shopfront and can confirm that what they have down is similar to what was previously there. As such we the Council consider these changes to be acceptable and will not be enforcing against it. [/i] Similar? are they blind? I agree with poppy and nasaroc, the ...

IMO the frontage of Machray's was out of keeping with the rest of Sydenham Road anyway.
This is the kind of attitude that made the high street the eyesore it is today :-(

I'm really upset about this too, angry to be honest. Wasn't it the shop front listed? how did Lewisham council let this happen? I think they should be forced to put the old shop front back, but something tells me those ignorant so-in-so's already destroyed it.

I'm won't step foot in the place!

Could it refer to this? I have no idea.... and to a certain degree I couldn't care less about the name, the sign itself looks horrible!!! I was really upset when I saw it. " Kente cloth, known locally as nwentoma, is a type of silk fabric made of interwoven cloth strips and is native to the cou...

yes please!! I prefer the one with the coloured blinds, but even a coat of paint will make a huge difference! I can't believe they've let it look so bad! I guess bright colours aren't everyone's cup of tea, I like them, but we could do something similar with muted colours or even print them with som...

I want to see that new 'Indoor Market' disappear, it's a joke to say the least! Going back to the possibility of a REAL indoor market. I agree with what most people have said, - a good butcher and fishmonger - organic veg and fruit - x-mas market, fashion catwalks/market (if environmentally friendly...

NO to Tesco and NO to badly run businesses. I don't like Tesco for ethical reassons, and I don't go to many of the local shops because they're so badly run. Still, if I have to choose between the 2 in our high street I'll choose Tesco. I wouldn't go there, but hopefully that will make so many local ...

I just voted for Mayow Park. I'd say that Home Park down the bottom of the hill needs even more help, but I rather see improvements in one of our local parks than somewhere else! hopefully we'll get it.

Roast Dinner on Sunday..... I really do like the food at Trattoria Raffaele, but to find a Roast Dinner in an italian restaurant will feel a bit out of place, even if it's a good one, unless... it's on a pizza! What about a roast lamb and mint pizza? or a roast beef and horseradish one? I will find ...

Best of luck with the survey Scott, please let us know about the final results!! Regarding the above comments, I just want to say that I really like the FOOD at Garam Masala . I used to get a take away from Namaste, but after trying Garam Masala they won't have my as a client again, not that they're...
