My wife visited the cake shop in October last year, and said that Heston Blumenthal had been in the bakery all night. I wondered whether he had cooked the apple turnover I was eating.

I have had numerous suits altered by the lady in the dry cleaners on Kirkdale - the red dry cleaners next to Rams and the fish and chip shop. I can thoroughly recommend her. She's quick and the work is high standard. Only prob is that isn't in the shop every day, so best telephoning ahead to find ou...

Apparently he was cooking a giant cake in the shop. It was being filmed for a tv show. They were there all night cooking the cake, according to the lady in the shop.

I think the woodman might benefit from getting a couple of bottle conditioned beers in. Would this satisfy the real ale boffins amongst us, as well as avoiding the p...

De vere cycles in Streatham is a very good shop. They do a very large range - from basic models up to the top of the tree. The people in the shop are extremely knowledgeable and friendly. They also take 'cycle to work' vouchers, which, if you are employed and your employer is part of the scheme is a...

My wife and I went for lunch on Thursday lunch time and enjoyed our second visit since the refurb. We felt, again, that it was a tad expensive for a lunch (45 - starters/mains/2 beers & 1 wine).... but the food was not bad at all and the service impeccable. I regularly visited before the decorat...

Eagle,
Having looked at the Woodman thread to which you refer, it seems there are 3 first time posters there. As one of these posters i can assure you i have no affiliation with the pub, i simply enjoyed it when i visited and felt that i should come out of lurking on STF to recommend it.

It has been well renovated and has a nice feel. Am too looking forward to the food becoming available - nice big fire will be great on Sunday Lunches. Landlady is very friendly, as are the bar staff.
