The m0st AMAZING OPP0RTUNITY f0r a SpeciAL someONE!!

Post by sfhyouthforum »

The Sydenham and Forest Hill Youth Forum need a treasurer, and one of you lucky people could be that special someone.

The forum's current treasurer has become very busy at work and feels sad to leave after thirteen months, but happy to stay on as committee member and remote website helper-outer. Now back to you.

Duties include (as detailed by Sydenham Radio's Anna Bagahari):

• Ensuring adequate documentation for issuing cheques
• Ensures expenditure is authorised
• Check bank reconciliation to ensure no discrepancies
• Prepare accounts annually and general book keeping
• Keep records organised for audit
• Write a brief report three times a year (termly)
a short statement of owing, paid and bank figures

Anna also says: 'It is not onerous if you are into organising. In terms of hours, we are talking about 4 hours per month.'

So how about it? You can work at home or in the office. Our work is based at 17 Sydenham Road, where Nigel Desborough has so far donated the forum a desk-in-kind since Rockbourne Youth Club's office (where SFHYF is registered) has only the room to swing a small gerbil. But the forum isn't here to wreak on animals free flying lessons; we're here to make a difference, to ensure local services are networking, and to help our members thrive in what is going to be an increasingly tough time for third sector orgs, small social enterprises, and community organisations.

Think of the fame, the glory, and the sense of satisfaction... All for the bargain price of around 4-6 hours per month.

You could also help develop the SFHYForum's magnificent aim of building a community fund. We need expert locals to help us build and monitor this life changing model, asking local residents and businesses to give around £2 per month - or what they can afford - into a pot that local providers can apply for to ensure front line youth and community provision and services in Sydenham ( and Forest Hill and Perry Vale) survive the imminent local authority funding cuts.

All those interested, please call me, Melissa Knight, your ever grateful community servant, on 07886 116 055. I can email you The Sydenham and Forest Hill Youth Forum's Annual Report and you can be convinced that this is the reason you arrived on the planet!! Yay to progress!!

or leave a message here, or email mel@sfhyouthforum.org.uk, ...
