Anyone who listens to LBC won't have failed to notice this today, Tuesday 8th.
It changed its name from London Broadcasting to London's Biggest Conversation in 2007. I recall listening to it prior to that but don't remember the programmes particularly as its byline was "all news all day", or as some dubbed it "same news all day" lol, fairly perhaps, although that could be said of any all-news TV or radio station.
One programme stands out in my mind which was Clive Bull's unmissable late night Rolling Quiz with the inimitable Babs of Bermondsey who'd call in and was an absolute delight to listen to. You just had to tune in to hear what she'd come out with and sometimes she'd even get a correct answer to a quiz question. No such thing as canned audience applause but you could hear in your mind all other listeners who, like me, were grinning and whooping with joy
Clive is presenting an anniversary programme later tonight.
