Neighbourliness in Peak Hill Avenue

I'd like to address the person responsible for authoring and sending the anonymous threatening (if only mildly) letters to residents of Peak Hill Ave earlier this year.

Firstly If you have something to say then by all means say it BUT do not be so cowardly as to not put your name to your comments.

Secondly while its great to think people care about their environment, I can only think this is coupled to the remarkable rise in house prices especially in this street!! and not just a purely astheic consideration.

Thirdly how dare you threaten anyone!! You do not know their circumstances or even their state of health. I know of one elderly resident who does not even have a front garden, was extremely upset to the point of sickness worrying about this letter.

Your obviously new to the area and I hope you enjoy living here, but this kind of attitude will not win you favour.

If you want to do something useful, stop the flytippers at the top of the street . . .

There. . you can even do that anonymously, without upsetting anyone.

From what I've seen these letters were 'personalised' citing a particular aspect such as overgrown garden, rubbish in front garden (in this case not even visible from street by normal observation) etc. Also a bit about attracting crime.

Then there is the threat of tidy up before we go to the council (quite worrying for at least one aged resident!)

Now this may not sound that bad to you, but this is a small street with a number of residents that have been here for 30 years+ all getting along quite happily and suddenly some spinless *anker has to start upsetting people like this.

Come on nobody would like to receive such a letter from an unknown sender!! Its just unneccesary to behave like this, I think we all want a clean pleasant environment.

I guess thats the sort of people you attract when you get extra rail services. they don't actually care about the street or anyone in it, its just about the house prices, and if they are hoping that the will keep rising like they have over the past couple of years, good luck to them. . . tidy gardens or not!

He/she should have done a local letter asking if any volunteers fancied doing a street clean up. If no one did then leave it at that.
