Re: 5-a-side footie
Maybe it isn’t such a bad idea ( from the Guardian Coronavirus update)
People are being reminded to get some exercise despite the UK government’s call for the country to be largely put into lockdown.
The chief medical officer for England, Prof Chris Whitty said it was important that both children and adults still take exercise while in social isolation.
Being outside in the park is a very good thing to do and taking exercise is always a good thing to do - the thing we are trying to avoid is people meeting up unnecessarily or having unnecessary social contact.
Going to the park, yes. Crowding together with lots of people for a long time, that is the kind of thing we would rather people did not do.
Asked if it was safe for a few people to kick a ball about, Prof
Whitty said:
If it is in the open air and people are keeping their distance, then we would certainly want people to continue to enjoy themselves.
He said the UK was in for the “long haul” in terms of social distancing measures.
We’ve described it as a marathon not a sprint and we do have to be able to do things over many weeks to months if we are going to seriously get on top of this epidemic that is heading our way.

Re: 5-a-side footie
I'd be up for a kick about at some point (especially as I might have the next 6 months with very little to do). Also anyone with football manager/pro evo I feel this is the only way I'll be getting my football fix for a while

Re: 5-a-side footie
So football is out. Pubs are gone. And food is difficult to get hold of. Hopefully it will sort itself out in a few months.
At least Boro didn’t get relegated. Every cloud.
In the meantime, look after yourselves and if any of you get into real trouble, ask us for help, I’m sure we will if we can.

Hey Sheeps,
All good thanks mate. Hope everybody else is keeping well. Can't wait until we're all back kicking a ball around.
Cheers, JP

Re: 5-a-side footie
Goals have been open for a week or so for 3v3 no contact training sessions. But they are working on the theory that that normal service will resume in July. I have provisionally booked 7-a-side, 8:30pm on Wednesday 8th July.
Can you let me know if
a) you would be happy to play
b) you are happy with 8:30 or would prefer 8:00pm
This is, of course, dependent on the government making a decision (although I think we know they are eager for us to go and spend some money).
I just want an idea of numbers
I thought to begin with we would play without bibs (probably red v colours) and no sharing gloves. But your thoughts/suggestions would be appreciated.

Re: 5-a-side footie
I'm definitely happy to get back involved. 8 or 8.30 doesn't bother me especially, whatever is easiest for everyone.
Be great to see everyone again!

Ralph has also said yes
Re: 5-a-side footie
That’s great news Darren
Me Matt and bubbles are good to go either kick off time.
Steve is currently injured but will see how his injury is closer to the time, a 8:30 kick off would be easier for him

Re: 5-a-side footie
I’m in and happy with either time that works for most.
Re: 5-a-side footie
Sounds good - far enough away for me to think about doing some running beforehand!
Re: 5-a-side footie
Hi Lads,
Yeah put me in.
Dont have a problem with bibs but happy to do whatever.
If we do non bibs lets just make sure we know who's wearing what colour before hand!
See you all soon hopefully

Re: 5-a-side footie
And that would be 14 so it would appear that we have enough interest. I’ll keep an eye on the news and will keep in touch with Goals.
